When I see my boyfriend, generally he won't plans for us to do anything, I will have to suggest things. I'm happy with just chilling and watching TV we don't always have to go out and do things. But most of the time when I go over he will play video games for long periods of time and I'll be left sitting there. I don't want to tell him what to do and that he can't play games, I don't have a problem with him playing games for an hour or so and then do something with me, but that rarely happens. He will make plans with his friends at the weekends on his days off, so I'll usually only get to see him in the week days after work. Am I right to be upset by this? I feel that I have to make all the effort, he lives over an hour away and I'm usually the one the drive to him. Am i just being to needy or am I right to feel put out by this?
You are right to be upset, video games can be played whenever, time with you should be special time for him, you're not asking or expecting too much, he's being a dink.
Let him know that you don't really appreciate being second in line after video games, and don't put up with it. If he doesn't stop, then stop going over. If that doesn't catch his attention, and he doesn't make some changes, then it's time to move on and find a guy who will give you the attention (and common courtesy, for god sake!) that you rightly deserve.
