Why is my girlfriend so serious about everything?

She couldn't sleep after having a nightmare. When she woke up she told she dreamed she was kidnapped by a woman, after she said that I said that I would hit that woman only if she was very good whit weapons or know martial arts, in that case both of us would be dead.. Then an argument come after that and she end up telling me she would set aside her values for the ones she love ( I told her I wouldn't hit a woman unless she wanted to kill me, etc, and that I wouldn't renounce to my values for anyone). Practically she kept getting surprised by the fact that I wouldn't punch a female kidnapper... It was a silly fight, and I am fricking tired of discussing over little things like that, I never told her I would leave her alone.

don't take those fights seriously! or just tell her she's right and whatever... I mean, I'm all about being honest and fighting for what you believe but I think fighting for that is just a waste of time when you could simply say "yeah, you have a point" and change the topic

Well, if it was that easy. I mean she can't take nothing lightly, I said what I said and she felt I wouldn't protect her, pff

ok, you are 100% in the wrong. She obviously got upset because you said you wouldn't fight against the person who was trying to attack her, and that your values mean more to you than she does.

Huh, that's the thing, I didn't say I wouldn't fight against a person who was trying to attack her, I said I wouldn't punch that person if that person would turn out to be in fact a woman who I would be able to submit without a punch and no I wouldn't give up my moral values for any one, in other words I wouldn't kill, steel or commit anything I would regret in the name of my girlfriend or any other person, that would be putting that person in a pedestal.

I told her.. And she was like: you know what I am not going to renounce to my values for you neither... I told her I was fine whit that, by the other side I am not sure what really behinds what she said.

Personally, I get what you mean about how you wouldn't commit a crime for your girlfriend, but if someone said that to me, it would still hurt a little. Girls for some reason always expect the person they love to be willing to do anything for them, so it's hard to take in the fact that they have something more important. Do u get what I mean?

I know but I am glad I let her know I have limits.

good. The best to solve this I think is to tell her how much you care about her but realistically, you wouldn't commit a crime for anyone.
