I only eat after certain people. And that list is a very short one. So if I do so then you know I care about you. The guy I'm in constant confusion about who is also my best friend (that's supposedly gay) allll the time offers me food & I do eat after him. When we used to work together he was always giving me a bite of something. Even to the point of yelling from the back to the front for me to come back there so he could give me food. Like its that obvious. So yes I think its a bit intimate. Other than eating after your parents or something like that.
I don't believe it's "essential"
To me I think it's just being romantic and intimate in a way. Kind of the same if I were to wipe something off my partners face with my serviette, or letting him have a bite of my sandwich. I think it just shows how close and connected we are to do close things like that with each other.
Only if you are sharing food and there isn't another one. Like at work the other day my bff wanted to try my pasta, but brought a sandwich. I left her use my fork and didn't think anything of it. However if it's a regular thing (like a couple I knew once that always shared a plate) that's a no go.
I said yes but I don't think of it as being intimate just not a big deal since your already swapping spit but then again I have tried friends food while using their fork so I guess I am just not super hygenic in that way? Who knows? Doesn't seem like a big thing to me though...
It's just as gross as kissing. Not necessary though.

I don't think you HAVE to do it in a relationship lmfao but it's not gross either. You're going down on the other so why would eating off their utensils be gross?
