Why when I sent a guy a picture of myself he didn't compliment me?

I decided to text a guy I spoken to 2 months ago over text messenger. He told me to send him a picture of myself so I did. He didn't compliment me like how I did to him instead he said he doesn't remember me. Strange thing is when he first spoke he complimented me now he acts like nothing. He even asked for my number before but I didn't give it to him it was nothing personal.
