Private simply means that you don't go around telling the world about it. You still express affection in public etc. And stuff like that, it's just that you don't post pictures over social media every second of the day etc. I mean, close friends and family will know etc. But you just don't make it a big deal and advertise it to the world.
Secret means that you're not planning on telling anyone, unless you both decide on it or something. You REALLY don't want people to know about this relationship. You probably won't go out in public places or really been seen together that much.

Keeping a relationship private means not discussing your relationship problems or private experiences between the two of you, but acknowledging the relationship to others has nothing to do with privacy. When people try to use "private" as a way to hide or "keep secret" a relationship, it's not the same thing. Keeping a relationship secret is done simply because one or both people don't want anyone else to know they are in a relationship for whatever reason.
Private: you're in a relationship but you don't show signs of affection in public and if you do, you don't over do it.
Secret: no one knows that you two are aware that eachother exist/ you have the intent to not tell a soul and keep it that way.
If a guy wants to keep you low key, that's fine. But completely ignoring that fact that you're in a relationship for and extended amount of time is a no no

private... means you just don't discuss the private aspects of your relationship with other people. like for me i rarely discuss aspects of my sexual relationship with my wife or any past partner as i feel it is a private matter

A secret relationship is when you actively keep your relationship from others knowledge, you don'twant them to know you're in one and you go to lengths to make sure they don't find out.
A private relationship is when you don't keep your relationship or details a secret, you simply prefer not to talk about it, or you simply do not bring it up unless asked, and even then typically more details are only given when asked about them.
Keeping it private means not sharing the dirty details. So like the sex you had last night, the fight you got into last weekend, the romantic getaway you're taking next month. It's just keeping the personal stuff about your relationship personal.
Secret means not acknowledging that the relationship exists. To me, secret is a red flag.
private meaning people know about it, but don't know what goes on in it, constantly, every kiss every fight, every time you have sex, every time your partner does something stupid/funny/sweet etc.

Private: means people know ur are dating, u just don't post or share every little fight, or sweet things one does for each other. Basically u don't share ur love life like paparazzi share the love life of celebrities
Secret: means no one knows u are dating and he/she is cautious of not letting known friends see u together
It typically means they aren't all about putting their lie life out there on social media or hit socially in general.

There a difference between guys you've liked, guys you've talked to and guys you are in a relationship with. If you're ever in a relationship with someone and you don't want to tell anyone, you're in the wrong relationship.
In my opinion, i think a secret relationship is keeping a secret between the two of you. and private is the same, but in private you have more time and space with the person. secret is you just dont tell people and private is like you do but you do exactly tell what happen.
Secret is usually for cheaters or co workers lol private is for me normal with my relationships no one really needs to know my business like that.
It's so much better keeping it private, trust me lol.
You should keep it private in my opinion until you both know you guys are for real.
