My boyfriend asked me if I love him? why?

We have been together around 6mnths. He has said "i love you" multiple times outside the bedroom.. when we go on dates like movies, dinner or just chill at the park and we would cuddle up, and he would kiss me on the forehead and say "i love you" but I never said it back. Thing is, I never loved any of my exes... so I've never said "i love you" to any guy before so even though I have strong feelings for him, I cannot say it back. Im not even sure if im in love yet 😏 but anyway, today after we had sex, we cuddled and he asked me "do you love me? because you never say it to me" and i didn't answer him but i hugged him closer and he asked again "do you love me?" and then i said "i do.."
why did he keep asking me this?

He keeps asking because you aren't addressing the problem. He's expressed his feelings and you haven't yours - if you can't say it then tell him and that and work on another way to express that you actually do have feelings for him.
It's really hurtful to not have feelings reciprocated and you're only avoiding when he asks. Just tackle it head on and say exactly what you posted above

I don't think so. Most guys I have met are not very keen on saying it. So when they mean it. He's told you a few times now that he loves you, so I would believe that he does. He's likely worried you don't love him, and that's why he was asking.
