Exclusive: For me this means, that I am seeing this girl, who I really like, but I just doesn't know if it's really "the girl" yet. We still need some time to get to know each other better than we already do. Exclusive also means, that morally, you can't see or date anyone else :)
Official: Now it's official, everybody knows your with this girl/guy, and you are having a relationship were there's nobody else involved. This means, that the couple in this relationship likes each other, and respects each other, even trust each other enough, that they can send their boyfriend/girlfriend out for a night in the town, without wondering if he/she will do anything stupid.
For me official means you can trust each other, I would never go into an official relationship were I know I wouldn't trust my girlfriend 100% in all situations.
and yes, I've actually dumped a girl I was in love with, because I just didn't trust her enough, I did at first, but it changed.
Exclusive: mutual decision not to see, or fuck someone else.
Official: relationship labeling. Gf/bf.
