Perhaps a little context would be useful. Not all of us are as one dimensional as the stereotype. Did he say it in regards to your appearance or an accomplishment.

I'm guessing it was something I did rather than how I look. There wasn't much context. That is why I'm confused. He asked how I was, I said good, busy with studying. He then just came back and said I really impress him.
