I'm falling in love and it scares me

I met a guy 6 months ago and right away I liked him. Since then it has been a roller coaster ride with him. He had just got out of a three year relationship when I met him and he wanted to be single but I was crazy about him and he liked me a lot too so there was a lot of tears and breaking up, and getting back together then I finally got what I wanted about a month ago when he decided to be with me and no more bs. I am falling in love with him and it scares me so much. Now that its finally perfect, I am so scared to loose him and I'm just waiting for something to go wrong. I am the most uncomfortable when things are good with a guy because I know ill fall hard when it messes up. How do I just stop thinking so much, and just relax and enjoy what I have?

This sounds exactly like the relationship I am in! I know this probably sounds strange but I am very suspicious that you are actually my girlfriend who is writing this lol. I sure hope you aren't though because it would be embarrassing for me to answer then.

Ill give you a little back ground of my relationship with her, since it is very similar and I'm pretty sure she has felt very close to how you feel. I met her some time ago at the very end of a serious relationship of mine that ended badly. I liked her and she liked me, but I wasn't in any hurry getting with anyone and just wanted to be single. Quite some time went by of us off and on never officially together, and this is probably how your guy friend feels too, I started to realize and really appreciate how dedicated and good of a friend/basically a girlfriend she was to me and decided that I wanted to have something more serious with her. I'm sorry I don't know what to say that will flip a switch for you so you start relaxing immediately but have faith that he probably realized the same thing I did. Otherwise, honestly, he wouldn't have looked for something more official and serious with YOU and would have continued to be single. Believe me if he didn't want to be with someone he wouldn't right now, especially after his long 3 year relationship. Anyways, I hope that helps, like I said just have faith that he realized how special you are.

OMG! I'm in the same situation, it sucks.

I don't know what to do stay or leave? give up or keep trying?he tells me he can't love me like he wants to now but he will eventually. His ex girl cheated and dumped him because she wanted to have fun in college. then I came along everthing was wonderful at first I didn't even know he was heartbroken, then all of a sudden wen valentines day was comin up he started to get emo. there anniversary was feb. 15th FML! lol but were still talkin I'm still holdin on trying not to let my insecurites get the best of me. but its hard when your falling in love with someone and your not sure if there gonna love you back the way you want to be loved. ya know? just keep your head up and pray on it. it will be fine in due time. patience is the key. =.)

Its really important to do what you would normally do outside of him, don't text him heaps, let him contact you too. Don't let him become your whole world because that is when a guy will get scared and run, just dont' read into things too much and the times you have together, just try and enjoy. On the days you don't see or hear from him, don't assume anything and just enjoy a hobby or go see friends, that way you still keep your life and he will love you even more for it. :)

just stop worrying and realize that you will find the most joy when you let yourself go completely--go ahead and fall in love with him--some of the best times in life are when you feel so out of control. just do not worry and cherish the good times because life is not always so kind. love is great, you just have to let it happen.
