WHY does my boyfriend get so mad when I cry

im not a huge cry baby or anything and throughout our relationship I barely cried in front of him.

when we get into arguments and it gets to a point were I do cry the only thing I want in the world is for him to hold me and for us to stop arguing.but he just gets more angry and starts freaking out and asks "WHY are you CRYING ?" lol. and says quit it and that I'm just trying to make him feel guilty and then he leaves the room and acts all mean. then later after things cool down he comes back apologetic and gentle.

im not trying to make him feel guilty or anything its just sometimes I get emotional and I feel the need to cry.

its not just when we argue either, once we were watching a documentary and it made me cry. he gets all annoyed and uncomfortable and its like he doesn't know what to do. and leaves.lol

i talked to my friend and she said her boyfriend gets pissed off too. and my other friend says her boyfriend laughs at her and mocks her.

seems like its actually pretty common, but why ? why do guys act like that when a girl cries ?

(Going through exact same thing right now) I have found in my experience if he thinks it's "trivial" then it pisses him off and thinks it's "drama". Men just think differently about emotion- I've had mostly sensitive and compassionate men in my life so it's not like all dudes are like that- but definitely there is a different way of thinking here. They don't understand the details or that one things leads to the next which makes you feel hurt. As a person that likes to empathize where someone is coming from it's INCREDIBLY difficult to understand why someone would be angry by crying and not trying to comfort or understand where they are coming from... it's bizarre... but to them that's how they feel about the "over" emotion.

even though it may not seem like it,

most guys has a protective mind,

(wanting to protect)

girls feel the need to be protected.

so, when a girl cries,

could it be that the guys feel

uncomfortable becourse

they feel like they've let down

the girl?

the above is not scientific or anything,

I'd like to call myself an expert in emotion manipulation

so I do this occasionaly with my friends to watch their reactions (am I mean?)

Why is my boyfriend always so annoyed with me? Everything always seems fine and then suddenly he's in a bad mood. I ask him if he's okay and he just gives me a look like "leave me alone". Then I ask if I did something and he shrugs. So I say that it just seems like he's mad at me. Then he says "I'm not doing anything" in a really annoyed tone. I always feel like he doesn't want me here. I feel like he wants to break up with me but when I try to talk to him about it, he just shrugs or has nothing to say.

its just so annoying when its about trivial things like arguments and stuff. like why would you feel "the need" to cry? that just doesn't make sense. I bet if its about something real, its fine. if you lose a family member or something, please, cry all you want. that's a very big deal and totally warrants crying.

i never cry, but I definitely don't fault people for crying. why do you 'need' to get annoyed. its an emotion, just like crying.

Crying is a release of built up energy with feelings. You can't relate because you don't experience it. It's frustrating to go through... lol. Like you get choked up... you know if you say a word your voice is going to get shaky and you'll start crying because you're trying to control the tears from coming. Sometimes it comes from anger and hurt- it just builds up intense inside and releases itself in the form of tears.

My only thoughts are during an argument it could be seen as a sympathy attempt but you also mention the documentary thing so it is weird. He may just see these things as trivial things to get worked up about and not know how to respond to them.

OMG that happens to me to don't worry and then when I did cry I didn't look at him cause he told me he hated to see it but he just got more pissed off I just quite I don't understand my boyfriend but I love him anyway. You feel the same way about your boyfriend obviously so don't worry just talk to him and tell him and if he acts mean just keep talking so he gets the point. Hoped I helped some how :)
