My boyfriend is three years younger ... When will he want to "trade me in"?

My boyfriend is three years younger than me. He is fit and has a good job. When will he want to trade me in for a younger model? I know that, by having some money, you can always find a girl 10-15 years younger who will do anything to get her hands on it. Should I just consider this something temporary (we've been together about eight months) or actually consider a real future? I'm going to be turning 30 this year, and I know how disgusted guys get with women of my age.

erm, I think you have been miss led here, because although I am 7 years your senior and obviously 30 would be me going for someone younger, but women who turn 30 and even late 30's are at their best, and I don't think this guy is going to be able to notice you are older, because he will probably age more than you will faster, so I think you should concider a future, because most of us guys don't let go of a good thing when we have it, no matter how green people say the grass is on the other side, so I wouldn't worry, turning 30 is you peaking at your best, and he will notice this, good luck,x

wow you need a real confidence boost, guys don't normally put effort into something we don't want. you two have been together for a good amount of time so chances are he wants this relationship to work. if he was +8 years yonger than you it might be a minor concern but 3? your close enough in age it shouldn't matter.

as long as your both willing to work together towards your goals and grow your relationship I see no reason to assume that it would end.

I've had guys in their early forties tell me that women stop being as attractive to men once they get into their thirties.

that's a limited, narcissistic, and not true. you want proof take a look at maxim's top 100 or any other guys list of beautiful women I can name 8 who are +30 that make the top 20, I can name 13 who have kids, even women like Madonna who's ranking on the list is less than there age. who ever told you that is not telling you the right thing. anyone who takes care of themselves will be dropping jaws well into there 40s.

It will cross his mind when you're 40, but if things are otherwise good, it'll be a fleeting thought. If things are not good, it will gnaw at him. Honestly a 30 year old in shape is still really hot. When you're 40, he's 37, and could get 25 year olds, that's when it its a little harder. But if you take care of yourself and have a good relationship, he's not going to run off and trade you in any more then he'd trade in a woman his own age.

I'd have the same worry if we were the same age, I think. A lot of girls date guys who are older, not because of a strong preference, but as security.

The reality is if the guys is in shape and has a decent job, his status will rise relative to a woman's over time. That said, I don't know many who guys who dump their family just because they CAN (though it happens). But if you let your sex life collapse, gain weight and have no interests beyond buying home furnishings with his money AND he can get someone 10+ years younger ...

Like I said, if things are good, its not a huge issue. And when will he notice? Not at 30, more like 40.

Wow this is sad. I don't know, personally 3 year gap is not a big deal to me. I mean I am going on a date today with a girl who is 23 and I am 21 soon to be 22. To me it doesn't matter, looks will ALWAYS fade, inner beauty will not.

The 3 years between us is fine ... it's the 10+ years between me and girls he could get with that is worrisome.
