im definitely not. However, I wear my hair out natural (really curly/kinky) most of the time, and most black women dont. I think many Asian girls have beautiful hair ,but judging from my Asian friends, you can't do much with that texture. Its extremely hard to curl, if we are talking about far east Asians with straight hair, for example. I think if you want straight hair all the time, then you may wish your hair looked like that. Obviously, I do not, or I could easily relax my hair or straighten it all the time. Of course, there's Indian hair, which is where most of our weave comes from lol, and that hair seems more flexible than lets say Japanese hair.
I think jealousy implies some more intense feeling than I've observed from the black women I've know in my life. I don't think most black women consciously compare themselves to Asian women because the image associated with each group, the image of beauty that each aspires to or the beauty common in each group, is so different. I know a lot of black women who think Asian women are not attractive at all. I realize you're only talking about hair, but think of it this way: if you see a certain kind of eyes on someone, that looks like eyes you wish you had, but everything else about them just seemed, okay, at best, you probably wouldn't be too jealous of them. contrast this to someone who has everything you find attractive and add those eyes as well, you're more likely to be jealous of them, to treat them a certain way, etc. the former person, yeah they have nice eyes, but its almost like you don't care because that's all they have. This is kind of how about half the black women I've known in my life feel about Asian women.
Do I think, if given the choice, that many black women would choose to have Asian hair? Of course, specifically Indian hair. Do I think theyre jealous? No, because their view of beauty and their view of themselves is so far removed from the image in mind of Asian women, for many black women, not all. I'm sure some black women ARE jealous of Asian hair. However, I think a black women is much more likely to be jealous of a black or mixed woman with hair like an Asian girls, than to be jealous of the hair on Asian girls head, if that makes sense.
And girls walk around flippin their weave like theyre proud anyway so lol

Your point is completely off.I think you need to research (use google) african Americans and the struggle we have culturally with our hair. The black community at large does not appreciate their natural hair, and the media at large doesn't like our natural curly hair in it's natural state. Its because the majority rules concerning westerners. So blacks at large do anything and everything to straighten their hair as well as lengthen it...to feel and be more excepted. It has nothing to do with an obssession over Asian hair.
The other side is...some women just like straight long hair.Brittany spears and a bunch of celebd where extensions all of the time...would you say that they too have Asian hair envy?Sounds silly doesn't it.
The journey of black women and hair dates back to years ago and it's difficult to explain here.Maybe you should consider watching chris rocks "Good Hair" in addition to your own research.Their are plenty of articles on it.
I use to wear a bunch of weaves and it sure as heck wasn't because I have Asian hair envy.I liked having the opportnity to change my hair every two seconds.I loved it! Due to all of the damage from straightening my own hair and using extensions,i eventually cut off all of my natural hair,so it could grow back in it's natural state...curly as ever.
I do still wear wigs (because I like to change my style whenever I want and wear my hair curly when I want...without any damage to my hair). As I said,my choice of how and why I do my hair the way I do have zero to do with Asians of anyone else for that matter.Who ever made that statement is ignorant as hell.
I'm not jealous of any girl. The hair texture I prefer is actually 3c curls and most Asian girls don't have that. Weaves and hair extensions are the style now, but you'll probably notice more and more black women are dropping weaves altogether and going natural, because that style is growing. Hairstyles come and go like fads. Years ago weaves were not popular at all and girls who wore weaves would get teased, the relaxed look with no added hair was in. In the 70s weaves were not even common and most people wore natural unprocessed hair. No reason to assume black women are jealous of Asian women because some black women wear weaves. In fact, why single out black women at all? Women of all races do things to enhance their appearance. Black women are constantly called out for wearing weaves but people don't single out other races if they like to wear makeup, get plastic surgery, push up bras, and other false enhancements.
So I'm wondering what the real motive of this question was because I highly doubt a man really careas what black women think about Asian girls.
I made that comment. Most black women use some kind of extension, or weave, or wig, or perm for their hair. They use mostly indian hair.

You mean people of African heritage! Some have naturally straight hair, some have frizzy hair, some have wavy hair and some have curly hair, just like we have different skin tones (shades of brown)! I appreciate my hair natural and would never relax, perm it or wear a weave and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. My hair was made to suit me like hair is made to suit each individual. If my hair is left it alone it will naturally straighten out itself from the curls, does that mean that I am trying to be someone that I'm not? What about hair straightners, surely if peoples hair were naturally straight they wouldn't need it. What about the thousands of women of various ethnicities who wear hair extensions to make there hair appear longer or thicker? How many Caucasians females are there that have mixed children just so that they can have children with brown skin and curly hair? Thousands! Frizzy or curly hair is not difficult to look after if you are taught properly how to look after it. My hair is certainly not difficult to maintain and I love it! Women of African heritage need not the media or other ethnicities to tell them to love themselves it should come from self. Some Asians curly perm their hair, so does that make them jealous of women who are of African heritage?
You'd be surprised to know how many white and Asian women wear extensions(especially Asian women). Race has nothing to do with wearing extensions, weaves or tracks.
It's quite sad how obsessed white people are with black people on this site. We're all supposed to walk around worshipping white people and acting stupid towards black people.
And this is coming from a biracial girl who has NEVER worn extensions or weaves. Its too heavy and goes grey fast... no thanks. By the way we typically use idian hair. I know they are asian, but I doubt that is what you were talking about. I don't wear weaves though... I like my hair :)
Lol no, I don't have a weave of extensions I have naturally long hair that if I want it straight I'll just straighten it. No reason to be jealous of anyone's hair, because I have my own lol. PLUS I wouldn't want to have Asian hair because it's so straight.. I like have natural waves.
dude, there are girls form every ethnicity that buy weaves and extensions.
lol no. while I will admit that black girls wear a lot of weave it's not because we think that their hair is better, its actually a mechanism to fit in. The culture is changing though, lots of black women going natural check this out. (black girl with long hair)
good observation thoughOne, Their not jealous of Asian girls hair.
Two I think it's that people with short hair might want long hair ( a lot of black people have long hair)
Three why Asian girls?
I am half black I have really long curly hair, but I would much rather have Spanish like hair ( Asian hair is cool though). I never liked when people got extensions or weave but it's cute and girls like their hair so...I'm white, but thought I'd answer anyway. I like my hair because it's naturally wavy and silky/soft. Asian hair is too straight for my tastes, and it rarely looks good IRL the way it does in movies. The Asian girls I know don't have particularly silky or enviable hair like it might be portrayed in commercials. I find it often looks rough and is wiry to the touch and either too thick or too stringy, not my ideal.
Anyway, it just seems like this is a troll question aimed at stirring the pot.Does Maori count as black? Anyway, YES! YES I AM! though I don't go out and buy weaves.. instead I straiten my hair to make it look as Asian as possible. Though I wish I loved my natural hair but the natural me seems to be beastly. :)
link - I am. It's so silky and shiny looking.
I'm white and I'm jealous of asains hair its so straight and perfect..dont even have to do anything with it! My hair I have to blow dry or it has life of its own lol
I'm white and I'm a bit jealous of Asian hair because it is beautiful. But the reason black women do so much with their hair is because it is very kinky and puffy and hard to deal with. That's what my black friends tell me.
I am not. I don't wear hair weaves. If I were MEANT to be an Asian woman, I would BE an Asian woman- point blank.
I'm jealous of Black women who are jealous of Asian girls' hair. Why can't I have that same envy towards them for having good non-horse related hair.
weaves are indian hair most the time you should watch Chris Rocks "Good Hair"
