18 years old and never had a boyfriend or a first kiss; normal??

Question

Sooo...I'm just wondering, I'm 18, almost 18 and a half, and I have never had my first kiss. And I've never had a boyfriend. Is this normal for people? I mean, I'm not ugly. I would actually consider myself quite attractive, but I'm not the skinniest person. I'm not fat either though. Just a little thicker? I don't know. Anyways, I've been asked out my a couple of guys that I wasn't interested in and I've gone out and hung out with guy friends who ended up falling for me but I wasn't into them the same way, they were more like brothers. But...

is my situation normal? Anyone else out there like me?

:) I used to feel the same way.

I was 18 years old when I got my first kiss and had my first date. My first kiss was amazing, full of sparks and tons of chemistry and all that good, tingly sh*t they talk about in love stories :) I'm so glad that I waited to have a memorable first kiss and first date instead of just rushing into it like most girls because they feel like that's what they're supposed to do. Often times, they are so controlled by this urget to have 'the boyfriend experience' or just get some male attention that they jump into situations with a**holes and guys they don't need to be with. Then they can become damaged goods and have a bunch of baggage that they bring into future relationships. So I think it's just best to wait for really valuable guys who are good men and have good hearts. So yeah, don't feel bad. You're just a late bloomer! It's better to be at 18 and have none or few romantic experiences than to be 18 and have a ton of romantic experiences and now you've got baggage and you've become gaurded and you do unfavorable things because you got involved with the wrong guys.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you still say 18 "and a half" ? I'm not being mean..just haven't heard that since I was a kid.

It's TOTALLY normal. Don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise either.

You mention that you see yourself as quite attractive & plus guys ask you out. I notice, however, that you also mention that you weren't interested in them. so IMO, I think that would probably be the issue: You just haven't had that mutual connection with a guy. (again, just my opinion) Well, you're only 18. You have a long life ahead of you. You'll meet a guy that you have the craziest, hottest chemistry with so yeah you'll have a boyfriend eventually. Maybe sooner than you expect so yeah just relax, enjoy dating and flirting, and stop wondering if its normal or not. lol

I think its fine. I am the same well I am 18 in like 11 days but, anyways I think its more to do with how confident social you are, how open you are and also, whether your in the right places at the right time. a lot, of people say guys never actually approach them in the street which actually made me feel better because, I thought something was wrong with me but, yeah anyways I thinking forcing and over-thinking it makes it harder than it should instead of it naturally happening!

You're freakishly abnormal...18 and no bf/kiss?!?! Lol I'm just messing with you! Go through all the questions on his website and you'll realize hundreds of girls are in the EXACT same situation as you, many in their 20s even without a boyfriend and/or kiss. Lots of guys are in this situation as well. You're completely normal, don't go around thinking you're weird or worthless because you're not. Society and the media place so much emphasis on having sex, dating, being in a relationship, etc when in reality it's simply not a big deal at all whether you're with someone or not. So keep your head up, love yourself first and foremost, fill your life with people you love and things you love to do, and realize there is nothing wrong with you, be patient and give it time. College opens a lot of doors when it comes to dating.

I'm 22 and didn't get my first girlfriend or kiss until recently. You're still young don't worry. Your time will come...especially considering you have had interest already.

Hey, you sound just like me! Same age and everything! :) I honestly used to get worked up about it and would be sad, but I realized "Hey, my life is just starting! Let reach out and experience all that life has in store for me right now, but let love come to me.". Relationships (with a guy) aren't everything. Just focus on other things for now :)

Well, I will be turning 18 in September, and about two or three weeks ago I just had my first kiss, so yes, I do think it is okay to have not been kissed... I have not had an actual boyfriend yet either... I guarantee you that there are most likely thousands of girls that are in the same situation as you. I think that it's just not your time yet. Things happen for a reason and if you wait, the perfect guy for you will be there to give you your first everything. Hope I helped!

God, I graduate high school next month and I've never had a boyfriend either. It sucks, it's depressing and I always believed that since I never had a boyfriend or barely any friends in high school when I grew up I'd most likely never have a boyfriend. And I won't have any friends because well I didn't have that in high school.
