I am 37 and he is 28. I think I am too old for him?

I just got out of very bad relationship and I was not feeling like to date with anyone for a while but this guy who is 9 years younger than me and obviously he likes me a lot. He treats me very nice and polite and I feel comfortable talking to him.

He wants to take me out to dinner sometime soon...but I have been hesitating to say yes.

He is very sweet and nice...but he is so young... he is only 28. I am 37!

He says age does not matter and he is looking for girlfriend.

What do you think?

Don't you Dare even hear of cancelling out this date. It's neither necessary Nor uncalled for, and I promise You, you will Still be sitting home... regretting it.

Whenever a girl and guy are out there in the dating world, One is looking for a mate, not an "age bracket." You don't even know the color of their Eyes, when first meeting, let alone their dang ages. So, because someone happens to be twice his/her senior, and yes, junior, does that mean we "hesitate" and say "Oh, he/she is very nice and sweet..but he/she is so young.." and we simply high tail it out of what could possibly be a night to remember?

The way I look at it, and I'm pretty wise on a lot of these relationship topics is, "Age is just a number, not a reminder." That is the motto I wrote four years ago, when I had first joined Facebook. It was my first time profile pix, and I had included this nifty saying. I wrote this, dedicating it to all my friends I had gone to school with, and it was just a great time again, after so long, getting up here and being able to see all our pix and do some reminiscing through this chat box.

I think, sweetie, One of your main reasons for procrastinating is, you are afraid to go out in public with this guy who you think may be still "wet behind the ears," and you're embarrassed , perhaps, you may----"seem older." My goodness, I have seen a guy Or a girl look ten times Younger than the other who was, in turn, supposed to be the "senior of their sexes."

I am proud of you in One sense, that you were totally honest with him, from the start, about your age. However, being this was just a date with someone you just met, maybe know in passing, And feel comfy and cozy with the convos, I don't feel it was even Necessary to have had to divulge your age. Not That nite, anyways. If it were me, I would not have mentioned it. If he had asked, I would have giggled politely and just said, "Over 30." He most likely would have laughed himself, and you both could have had a great restaurant picked out and a time for him to come ringing your bell.

It's your call now. I can't make it for you. However, I can tell you that you could walk out that door tonite, meet some schmo your Own age, even Older, and he could end up being "not so nice and polite." This sweetheart guy, who doesn't give an "over the hill" bean that you are 37, Wants to take you out, Is looking for a girlfriend. That to me, is a very mature outlook. Some guys his age, even Older, get cold feet just saying the word "relationship."

Bottom line is, you have just gotten out of a raw deal. Wouldn't it be nice, relaxing, even refreshing, just to be with, let's say-----a friend----right now. Never mind his age. You're getting to know Him, not his drivers license.

And even if things would become a little more serious in the future, then so be it. Take it it is fate that is stepping in. Don't let it end up being----Father Time...and you end up an old maid, still sitting home alone.xx

If you like him then go out with him. You're both adults. It could be worse. My friend is only 23, about to be 24 and his girlfriend is 43. How often will you hear a man that is 37 turning down a woman that is 28 because of the age difference? So, why should a 37 year old woman, such as yourself, turn down a guy that is 28 because of age difference. If you feel comfortable around him and you like him, then age should not get in the way.

That's on you. He is obviously at a point in his life where he's decided to try to date someone older (might even be his first time trying it), and there's nothing inherently wrong about that. The only thing you have to ask yourself is if you'd be okay with it, because he's obviously already made up his mind.

Sounds like someone is thinking the best way to get over someone is get under someone else.I mean if you would go out with a guy on the rebound and wouldn't think twice about it sure.Let him know though.
