Every single society has erotic depictions of women in media, art, entertainment etc. Whether it be a Victoria's Secret model, or even a simple fast food advertisement that depicts women in an erotic manner. Men are never depicted like this, why?

Well, because it's assumed that nobody wants to see a partially clothed man showing erotic mannerisms. It's been stated by many women that men don't look as good as women do, especially naked. I can't think of one instance when a man is depicted in such a way.

We straight men get extremely nervous around random beautiful women because we find women physically attractive even if we don't know them. Women don't feel nervous around men because according to various people and so-called experts, women don't find random men visually attractive. So why would they be nervous around men? Even if it's a handsome man, she still won't find him attractive. She needs that infamous emotional connection.

When women call men "sexy", unfortunately it's not based on his looks. They only find his personality, mannerisms and scent attractive. I hate that so much because it's deceiving. The farthest they seem to go with visuals is to find his smile and jawline attractive, nothing else. They don't seem to find the rest of a man's face or body attractive because according to various "experts", men have no beauty.

When's the last time you noticed a woman ogling or checking out a random man on a street? Oh that's right, it probably never happens. People say; "they are more subtle about it" or "women have better peripheral vision than men" and while it's true that women have better peripheral vision, I'm not sure if they use it to check men out.

We straight men get so happy when a random woman flirts with us; women on the other hand, will feel offended or creeped-out. They will say, "ugh get away pervert" or "stop looking at me". It doesn't really matter if he is considered handsome by other guys. This is why I wait for women to make the first move.

Something else I just loathe is how a woman needs to know a man to be sexually aroused by him. Women don't get turned on by looking at a random man in swimming trunks. Even the media goes along with this; commercials and movies show men checking out women in two piece swimsuits while the women don't even care if a guy is shirtless, just like in real life. While I'm not sure if one gender has better-looking bodies and faces, people sure like to think that women are more aesthetically appealing than men. Don't forget a lot of women use beauty products like makeup to make themselves more pleasing to the eye. I'm a straight man so I wonder if that's why I don't think men are pleasing to the eye.

While I can still appreciate both genders as a piece of art, I still think women are more beautiful. It just seems that women only care about what men can do with their bodies more than how men look. I don't want to date a woman that only likes me for my personality or what I can do for her. I want her to like me for how I look as well. I'm still skeptical that women even find men attractive (physical/visual).

    Uh... dude, that happens plenty, especially in cities. They generally are more subtle about it but lots of times, they're really not. Hell, in my experience, they're even more overt than men these days... perhaps because they know they couldn't possibly be accused of harassment, while the man has to be a LOT more cautious. :)

  • A few years ago near Christmas, I was speaking with a teen boy through Yahoo Chat rooms (I know, so old fashion). But he was worried about similar things written here. He feared that the majority of the female population was lesbian, and that there was no real physical or heavy attraction to men. He feared being single forever or being dumped for another girl. I tried to get him to see the light, but it's like everything I said, he picked apart, mixed it up, and became even more paranoid. I swear I wished I could have punched him through the screen because that's how bad it really was.

    I've heard of ideas like this, that women are more attractive in many aspects then men are, and maybe in some ways it's true. Women are and/or portrayed as being graceful, gentle, harmless, sexy, pleasurable, eye-catching, fun, etc. When I had Fine Arts Anatomy class, we sketched naked models, and the class (even my female peers) agreed that the female models were more desiring to draw. Nobody like the men as much, I guess becuase the men had more complex bodies with muscle mass, whereas the women had simple curves. There was a young woman who was chubby, but she was gorgeous and the class agreed. She looked like she had the face of a mermaid.

    I also saw years ago on a talk show like Sally where they were talking about the differences between male and female strippers. The women were interviewed and said they enjoyed the female strip clubs better, becuase the men were too wild, humping air, were too aggressive when dancing, and stuff like. So, maybe it has to do with how men are portrayed to be too wild and unsteady. I could be wrong.

    Women are just naturally very gorgeous. They're fun to look at. They're inspiring, especially at the gym when I want to lose my stomach like those other girls with flat abs. But what you also have to realize is that we live in a super male-dominated society. You guys rule entertainment, media, commercials, etc. So, what do you think they're going to show to entice more viewers, more buyers, etc? They're going to use women, like the burger ad photo you added. And when you keep seeing poking thick lips, lustful stares, butt poking out, tons of cleavage, and that lewd tone of voice, what do you think that does to people over the years, especially women? People will become more attracted that. I've rarely ever seen guys portrayed like that.

  • It's the voice thing too. Just look at all the women who feel more comfortable with having female assistants on their phones rather than male ones. With Siri clones for Android, I've noticed women typically stick to the default Siri / Google voice, rather than look for a man.

    I renamed mine Jacqi, and gave her an Australian accent. Because if the MCU can make Friday Irish, then I can make Jacqi an Aussie! I like to experiment that way. (And I couldn't find a Scottish brogue setting to download.)

Women might be better looking in general, but that's don't mean that there is no ugly women, and men who looks much better them them, in fact if a good looking man goes for ugly woman then he is compromising and very likely to be an sucker. Some of women's beauty is not even natural, things like hair removal and makeup. They show less sexy men on the media not only because it's easier to find good looking woman, but also because the main audience is usually males, shows that are for women, lend to show much more male fanservice/hunks/pretty boys, also men are usually more sexual and visual then women by default, it's not only default men are seeing many sexy women, it's because of having more testosterone.
