The Casual Sex Project is a collection of narratives regarding the sexual experiences of people who have engaged in some kind of casual sex at least once in their lives. The type of casual sex is categorized as one-night stand, fuck buddies, sex with an ex, first of many, friends with benefits, short fling, and group sex. The purpose is to boost awareness and understanding of non-college students who engage in casual sex, because too many formal research studies are based on the sexual behavior of traditional, young college students.

The Casual Sex Project is created by Dr. Zhana, a NYC-based sex researcher, educator, and NYU professor.

Things that everyone should take away from the project:

1. Casual sex is defined as any kind of non-committal sexual activity among two or more people.

2. The submissions are completely voluntary and extremely personal.

3. Some people have submitted more than one entry to the Casual Sex Project, and they admit doing so on their current entry.

4. Most entries are from USA, Europe, Australia, and Canada. The sample range limits to people who know how to write in English, have access to the Internet, are aware of the Casual Sex Project, and have the audacity to post about one's sexual experiences online.

5. Given that the entries are mostly submissions of supposedly real-life experiences, they may use a great helping of colloquialisms, which may not be readily understood by people who do not participate in casual sexual activities or people who are just unfamiliar with this sexual culture. Granted, the project and Urban Dictionary are great tools to learn colloquial sex terms, the stuff that your grade school teachers never teach you.
