Don't Hire a Prostitute, Seriously

Don't hire a prostitute seriously

I've seen a lot of stuff taking saying its okay to use prostitutes all willy-nilly but this is the one that made me write this take

https://www.girlsaskguys.com/sexual-behavior/a33502-why-i-love-the-concept-of-prostitution-sex-work

Specifically these lines, 'before I go anywhere with this, please note I will not entertain the notion that sex work and human trafficking go hand in hand. Human trafficking exists, it’s a terrible crime (actually it’s an umbrella crime for many crimes) but is a minority. Like EVERYTHING in life you get the good majority that is tainted by the bad minority. For example, ISIS is not reflective of all Islam, the legal pet trade is not reflective of the dog fighting trade etc. Most good humans that would use escorts would keep this in mind and they do. Some sex workers I know have youtube channels, are ex- porn stars etc.'- @Scrambledagain

First off unless there is A LOT of regulation a large portion of prostitutes have a drug problem, are victims of human trafficking, or have come from really awful backgrounds, ran away and are homeless or or underage.

Don't Hire a Prostitute, Seriously

The number of human trafficking victims in this world is absolutely staggering. The fact is that girl who is offering you sex for fifty bucks, there really is a decent chance that she actually is a human trafficking victim. There is also a decent chance that she is being pimped out and has been forced to be addicted to drugs so that their pimp could control them. That fifty bucks might not seem very much to you however if you hadn't done that then that's fifty less dollars that contributes to the billion dollar human trafficking industry.

Hell, you are supporting them, do you want that on your conscience? I sure as hell don't.

Now lets get on to the last point, seriously are you okay with that. The fact that you will have sex with someone simply because you paid them? Doesn't that bother you that the only reason she is there is because you paid her. Me I'm a Virgin but I'm not going to hire a prostitute, I won't lower myself to that and I have literally no self esteem, neither should you.

  • thanks for this. i've seen a lot of people trying to rationalize prostitution recently on this site.

i'm not against it fundamentally. if a person wants to sell their body and someone wants to pay then that's up to them. call it the libertarian in me.

but there is so much seedy, violent, abusive, stuff that goes on in the actual practice of prostitution in our world. even countries where it is legal have big issues with trafficking, that's why we see governments like norway working on creative solutions.

so until hiring a prostitute is like purchasing a piece of gum, little to no collateral damage, i can't really say that prostitution is ok

    • But when it's not legalized the cops don't bother to help these women at all. As a prostitute your more likely to get murder then an average woman. Pure example the green river killer, cops didn't really care and they didn't try hard enough and 40 women have to die before they start caring. It's really disgusting how people think of sex workers, they are humans too that need help just like anyone else.

    • Want to solve the entire problem? Not only legalise it, but high 5 the guys and girls who do it. Take the stigma away and it's solved. It's only a seedy thing due to the labels many people give it.

    • @NatashaJ not sure why you posted this as i voice my objection to prostitution whether legal or not @Scrambledagain how does that solve the problem? how does it solve the problem of pimps who coerce susceptible people into a business that is a downward spiral. how does it solve the massive problem of sex trafficking? how does it solve the problem of women, on average at age 13, being enticed into a life rape?

  • Warning, possibly triggering but 100% truthful FACTS below!

There are many women who want to, and enjoy being prostitutes.. It's market where there is a demand, and when done right, carries a large payday. If more places legalized it, they could also regulate and control it to make it safer for all parties involved. The concept of brothels is actually ideal. Every girl there is an employee under the madam. They're housed clothed and fed, their health is monitored, and the men are screened. Maybe some sort of special card, like a license could be issued to legalized sex workers. And, there are dating sites specifically for people who have STD/STI, there could easily be a market for a hooker with herpes to serve a man with herpes.

    • Most girls working in a brothel are very well cared for. I should know I grew up in one. Mom was the madam/owner.

    • I fully agree with you. I know 3 pro-dommes (bdsm type escorts) who love their job. They are awesome people too.

  • Difference between prostitutes and escorts.

  • Prostitution should not be legalized but decriminalized the only country where prostitution is allowed that has not had an increase in human trafficking is Sweden and that is only because they decriminalized the prostitutes but criminalizes the purchase of sex which lowers demand.

    • it also greatly increases the danger to the prostitutes. Legalization with proper regulation is whats needed to prevent human trafficking. It's also the moral thing to do, Government has no business in your bedroom, it was wrong when they made oral sex illegal, anal sex illegal, gay sex illegal, gay marriage illegal and it's wrong to make prostitution illegal. What you describe is making it illegal, decriminalization would mean no regulation and not illegal.

    • @Jager66 It does not hurt the prostitutes because they are not prosecuted. There is no evidence which supports that legalization prevents human trafficking only the opposite.
"Countries with legalized prostitution are associated with higher human trafficking inflows than countries where prostitution is prohibited. The scale effect of legalizing prostitution, i. e. expansion of the market, outweighs the substitution effect, where legal sex workers are favored over illegal workers. On average, countries with legalized prostitution report a greater incidence of human trafficking inflows."

    • I agree on making prostitution legal just the buying of sex illegal... that's the quickest most effective way of ending it. Start to cut into the demand, less demand less need of a supply = less human trafficing. Canada goes after johns as far as I know.

  • Dude, I live in Bangkok and yesterday, I walked with a friend through one of Bangkok's notorious prostitution walkways. Girls literally in bikini tops and half-butt micro skirts holding out signs, saying what i didn't even dare to look. And old fat lonely white guys sitting on the bar tables, facing a drink, and looking around.

Many of these girls came from poorer areas in Thailand, where the only possible way to make a living is by planting rice. So once the harvest season is over, they have nothing to do and no money to live with. So many women then go to bangkok to search for work. Since they don't have any useful skills, they often apply to bars, searching for work as waitresses. For many, at some point, they will get to know the more experienced bar girls, who tell them that if they go home with a customer, they get paid better money and can bring better money home for their families. This is the beginning for many, if not most, of Thailand's notorious bar girls.

Plus, so many young girls are also actually sold by their poor families to "agents" from Bangkok who come to the poor areas. They give the parents a fixed amount of money in order to bring their maybe 12-14 year old daughter to bangkok to waitress or something. But then once she arrives in Bangkok, she is thrown into a gogo or pingpong bar, she would be the "junior" or whatever, the one who cleans up after the dancer's show, the one who attends to the experienced dancers' needs. It is during this time that she is supposed to learn and train and once she reaches a legal age, she would then have to be a dancer/performer as well. These women insert live fish, cigarettes, needles, even razor blades into their pussies.

I'm so confused. I hate the "freelancing" prostitutes, since in my eyes, they are only after the quick cash. I mean, other women with similar background are struggling selling fruit on the streets of Bangkok, or working at McDonald's, earning 300 Baht (not even 10 US$) for an 8 hour work day. These prostitutes earn 2000-2500 Baht for a short time, 4500 Baht (1 US$ is 35 Baht) for a long time. Now that's very low and these women are scum of society in my eyes.

But I have seen enough documentaries where families are literally starving and had to find insects to eat, when they met these "agents" who wanted to give them what to them is a shit load of money for their slim, young, innocent daughter.

    • Yeah in some places it is bad. I know some horrific stories from South Africa. but there is two major issues here. 1) poverty and what people will do to survive (and what people will do to take advantage of that) and 2) why is sex worth so much to men? Women say it's so easy to get sex if a man just does x or y, but clearly it's not.

  • Good points. This is why I think prostitution should be legalised and regulated. It isn't going away so we need to make it safer for women and men.

    • Thanks you. I love wise women.

    • @Scrambledagain no problem :) some people want to be sex workers! And some people don't. We need to make sure those who do can and those who don't are safe. And the only way to do that is by regulating it

  • I noticed people here raised the idea of decontaminating it and regulating it. Excuse me but that means that tax payer money will go in to supporting prostitutes. No. No way in fucking hell will my cents be going in to helping some woman suck 10 dicks in a row.

    • In what way will taxpayers end up funding prostitution? It pays for itself. It'd be like cigarettes and alcohol.

    • @Blonde401 I meant *decriminalizing it. Autocorrect did it's work lol. Taxpayers might end up paying for the government issued protection. Essentially we'd be buying them condoms and pills.

    • I hadn't thought of that... good point.

    • Show All
  • Yeah, even those who aren't trafficked often suffer emotionally. You can never know for sure if she was trafficked, if she is abused, if she is desperate, etc.

The only way I would be OK with legalizing prostitution is if it were seriously regulated. Even then I have reservations.

Are you familiar with sexual surrogates?

  • I agree with you.
I think prostitution needs to be legalized so it can be regulated properly.

  • You are spouting the nonsense of a certain segment of feminists that intersect religious conservatives.

All women are prostitutes at some level. The ones that are not are called sluts, and that is usually a temporary condition.

What is the fundamental underlying basis of marriage? Sex and money. Don't believe it? Sit in a divorce court.

That some women are more honest about their desires (money) than others doesn't make them any more immoral. Of course, every woman who has ever done porn is a prostitute (and there are websites where one can hire many of them).

It is true that many prostitutes in western countries are drug addicts (a disqualifying characteristic for me), but that is not true everywhere.

To say that it is wrong to hire a drug addict, I am with you since it is destructive. But one cannot separate sex and money. They are two sides of the same coin, the coin of civilization, whether you like it or not. And when you doubt it, do visit that divorce court.

    • You know I'd actually listen to you if I'd A. Not seen plenty of evidence to the contrary, and B. you'd ever shown any level of basic human decency, mr. lets lock up anyone with mental illness just because. Hell, the way you are, I really doubt you'd be willing to raise taxes to make sure people like me were locked up Scandinavian style with a decent standard of living even though we've done nothing wrong.

  • i like this one :)

  • So don't hire the $50 one and go for the $500 porn star.

Sex work is work. Depending on your looks, will to work and the political environment, you are looking at somewhere between $100 to $500 an hour. Anything less then it's something abusive.

Human trafficking, abuses and deaths in sex work is caused by guys like you thinking prostitution is wrong. It creates a stigma to the job. The Canadian government admits that they don't want to protect women with their latest prostitution bill. They wanted sex worker to die, get beaten and such so they would quit working.

Every guy wants to be a knight in shining armor. If he sees a woman in distress, he will try to help her. However, if he feels what he's doing is 'wrong' or 'bad' then he will ignore her. A guy will report to the police if he feels his escort is being forced to work. The same guy will never report if the government forbids prostitution.

  • Surely not all prostitutes are part of a human trafficking ring.

    • There are tons of people (tons) that believe otherwise. I'm sure a lot also believe in Santa. We need to be very sensitive with these guys. Very slow.

  • Meh, I really don't care (silly concepts as a conscience or morals are like a box of bricks, all I have to do is set them down). If I'm horny and too lazy to jack off to porn It's off to Backpage/escorts I go (or EroticMonkey or a dozen other sites if BP is finally taken down). If something bothers you to do it then don't, but I can do so and still sleep well just fine. Most of my $200/hr escorts/whores/prostitutes/whatever you choose to call them aren't on drugs, they are simply paying for college for the most part. Sorry, no $20-50 low class cheap ones carrying 10 std's for me. As far as the global trend who cares? The world sucks, that's not going to ever change when you have 5B jobs (that are probably going to shrink with automation and resource limits) and 7.5B people = I'm surprised 2.5B are not "trafficked" (even though some or even most are independent/without a pimp). They are not that many partly because the unattractive ones simply starve to death come famine time.

    • "silly concepts as a conscience or morals are like a box of bricks, all I have to do is set them down" If you think morality or a conscience is a silly concept then there is something really wrong with you

    • It's silly to me. And I'm far from the only one. Like I said don't like it don't do it but I'm going to do as I please. The fact is not everyone is a victim. Most of the escorts I've been with are independent and are in it for the easy money by their own volition (with old guys like me it's generally not going to be a drama-filled evening, so don't need pimps for protection with a little screening and absolutely refusing service to anyone black and under 35, even though some see that as racist it's actually quite common).

  • I never had a problem to get a woman. I do have high self-esteem. In my past I was using prostitutes quite a lot. For different reasons. My ex-girlfriend liked vanilla sex only. My kinks and fetishes I told her about, she wasn't willing to try them at all. So I chose prostitutes. I paid and I get what I wanted. Later I had lover, but in certain way, prostitutes were better option to me.

  • all the prostitutes i go to are lovely friendly girls who work out of their own free will and are not junkies. prostitutes have feeling to you no. you can't paint them all with the same brush, forced, pimped and junkies etc.

  • Prostitution is not going away lets just be honest its been around for centuries and it just gets more lucrative but at the same time easily assessable. People believe all prostitution is done on the street and for a cheap price. Which in reality some are but in certain cities like mine their are more hire level executives that will pay at least 800 dollars for a night. The lower level of prostitution is literally a everyday thing in some states if you get caught and go to jail all you do is pay 50 dollars and your out. Those type of prostitution are in low income areas where the jobs are minimum and the easiest way to make money is either stripping and/or prostitution. Its the lack of resources in the communities. Also the reason why vegas has a lot of prostitution is because the Strip has all the jobs and all the money but besides the strip and the casinos its one of the poorest neighborhoods

  • The oldest profession on earth.
An exchange for sex always takes place. Everyone has their price.
Women will give it up for the right price, prostitute or not. It's just a matter of establishing what that value is. Sometimes it requires a marriage and ongoing financial commitment. Sometimes it's just exclusivity. Sometimes that isn't even necessary.

I have never hired a prostitute - there were always plenty of women willing to fuck me for free. I present high-value.

    • Good for you. Define high value? Is it money, looks or a combo? Without those your value is in serious jeopardy.

    • @Scrambledagain Yes, high value = money, looks, talent, personality. Personally, my value has dropped way off due to age - the big 6-0 next year. However I can still pull interest from 40yo's. But I've been married for the last 25 years and have remained true. There's something in there about pre-selection as well. Are you familiar with that? The concept that women are attracted to another's mate - if he's good enough for her he must be a good catch. We also call it mate-poaching.

    • Sound like a wise old pick up artist ha ha. But congrats on the big 6 0 and to your marraige.

  • I'm not interested personally, but I know guys that have hired them and I see nothing wrong.
Supporting human trafficking is obviously wrong, but there is certainly a portion of callgirls that are there of their own free will and being smart about how they work. In those circumstances I don't see a problem.

  • Just wow. I love how every anti-prostitution rant, automatically associates human trafficking with prostitution. There are women who CHOOSE to become sex workers. They are not forced, or abducted as children. If you don't like prostitution, then don't become a prostitute or pay for one. When the industry is legalized, its better for managing the public health concerns that prostitution is associated with. Condoms and regular testing occur in countries with legalized prostitution. These things do not occur, and are not mandated, where prostitution is underground. It also allows for more drug addiction and human trafficking, since there is no legal industry. Prostitution is legal in Germany, Turkey, UK etc. Some don't have brothels, but others do. Aside from that, throwing people in jail for wanting sex or selling sex, is fucking stupid. It's a waste of taxpayer money and police resources. I'd rather have them go after murderers, or crack dealers. Meth is much more destructive than two adults practicing safe sex, money being exchanged or not.

  • 🙄 my word.

Just off the top of my head. If I took that 60000 number in America and assumed all of it was human trafficking for sex work, that would only be about 0.018% of the population. 😂 I have less than 1% chance that even if I didn't know what I was doing, that my escort would be a victim of human trafficking.

So there is a descent chance that she is not a victim of human trafficking. The evidence... lol... that YOU gave, proves you wrong. I love the irony.

    • The problem is that your comparing that 60,000 to the total population of the U. S. If you want to find out what percentage *of hookers* are trafficked, you should compare it to the number of hookers in the U. S., not the total population.

    • @Bluemax There are between 500k and 1 million prostitutes in the US at any given moment. This is a rough estimate because no one knows for sure, it's still less rough than the estimate on human trafficking though because there simply isn't much data on human trafficking. Human trafficking can be anything, from the stuff you see in the movie Taken (this is very rare and you'll be hard-pressed to find many cases where law enforcement came across it, even though they have a disproportionate amount of resources allocated to go after gangs who do these things) to Guatemalan or Chinese illegal workers being smuggled into the country (much more common). Most trafficking estimates rely on assuming law enforcement miss catching or even charting membership and revenue streams most gangs to the point where these gangs must have superpowers and unlimited funds compared to actual known global crime syndicates, with such solid reasoning as "well, you can't prove they don't!"
