Men (not all men) pay actual money to see womens nipples. There is an entire industry of titty bars which capitalizes on this. An obvious effect of freeing women's nipples will be that such industries will decline since seeing women's nipples will no longer require a pay wall. Personally I would love to see a decline in such industries! It is to me a good thing!

Many advertisements directed at both men and women make use of sexualized imagery of women, also of men, but much more of women than men. Sex sells. Yes sex sells but it only sells because of the mandatory modesty that is imposed upon women in our society. In many societies actually. Modesty when it comes to the chest area is optional for men, for women it is mandatory. As soon as modesty becomes more optional for women, which no doubt is already set in motion then sexual advertisements will no longer be as provocative because modesty for both men and women is now more optional than it was before. Sexual advertisements don't have any effect whatsoever on nudists, both men and women. Since modesty is 100% optional for them sex doesn't sell. Call me crazy but to me sexual advertisement is exploitation, therefore I wish to see it abolished completely and rather sooner than later!

Obviously for both men and women modesty should be optional, it should not be mandatory. If both men and women wish to feel more free by sacrificing some, or all modesty they should have the right to do so in the correct environment that is.

ps: I also believe that #freethenipple feels to women like it is something they are supposed to do. This is actually the opposite of what we should strive towards. I don't believe in anything mandatory when it comes to the human body. If both men and women had the ability to not have modesty nor immodesty forced upon them and their bodies that would be great!

  • This has got to be the most ridiculous justification I've seen yet.

    Do you honestly believe that women will suddenly all start walking around shirtless if it were legal/acceptable?
    And if so, do you think "titty bars" are "too big to fail" or that it would have significant impact on the economy?
    And even if it did, supply - demand. Ya some industries die out due to them being replaced by something better or there simply not being any demand. It's just how the world works

    And as for ads ya well the oversexualisation of women's bodies is big part of the point. It's not right that because womens bodies are used to sell everything women can't even feed their children in public.
    Sex is never gonna stop selling. If it did tho, the world survived for centuries without women in bikinis selling beer, I'm sure we can overcome that challenge again

You also say that it won't alter society at all because most women wouldn't indulge in it and they will still charge men to see their bare fronts (I actually agree with you here, only women desperate for male attention will show the boobs for "free.") I honestly can't tell if you are for or against freethenip based on your reply? You sound morally OUTRAGED by the suggestion of de-criminalizing the display of female chests (because you are a princess who hates sluts) but also optimistic that de-criminalizing the display of female chests would be a positive option for women (because you care about women's rights?) I'm confused.

  • Bikinis have been around forever and aren't considered indecent exposure, yet you don't see women walking around in them all the time. Heck you don't even see men walking around with their shirts off unless they're exercising or on the beach. "Free the nipple" doesn't mean women will throw their shirts away and just be walking around with their boobs out all the time. All it means is that female nipples shouldn't be considered indecent exposure or banned from social networking websites that allow male nipples. The economy will be fine. lol Not to mention that if people stopped using women's bodies as an advertising tool, it might not be such a bad thing... they'd simple be forced to come up with other ways to advertise!
