What Really Happened Concerning the Death of Lauren Agee?

Crime watch shows are one of my guilty pleasures. I watched a show on Lauren Agee's death and it infuriarated me that the police investigating her death, could be so stupid. In the past when there was more awareness about a case, cases were re-opened and even solved. Lets hope that happens with Laurens case.

Lauren was a beautiful and very outgoing 21 year old girl. On the weekend of July 25th to the 27th of 2015, she was attending Wakefest. Wakefest is a three day wakeboard competition and festival about two hours outside Nashville. Duriing the say, people drink and watch the wakeboard competition and at night they drink even more. It was supposed to be a fun weekend, but sadly she wouldn't make it. Lauren never lied to her mother about where she was going or who she was going with. Lauren said she was going to go with Hannah Palmer. Soon after Hannah and Lauren got to Wakefest, two men, Christopher Stout and Hannahs new boyfriend, Aaron Lily joined them.

What Really Happened Concerning the Death of Lauren Agee?

According to a friend of Lauren's named Kassi, Lauren made it crystal clear that she wasn't romantically interested in Christopher. Kassi said she even acted like she was having to put up with him. And I dont blame her Christopher and Aaron both have a long history of violence and assault. Chris Yarchuck was working security for the event and said that he briefly talked to Lauren and her friends. Yarchuck said that Lauren was very outgoing while her friends were quiet and reserved. Yarchuck said he got nervous feeling as it was 2:30 in the morning and lauren and her friends were canoeing to a steep cliffside, as they planned to sleep there.

This cliffside is extremely steep and filled with trees, rocks, bushes, snakes, and ledges. It has a 90 feet drop on one side and a 45 feet drop on the other. There's only two ways to get off this cliff. Using a thin rope for assistance and going through a treacherous maze or hurling yourself off and hoping you miss the jagged rocks below the surface. Sleeping arrangements were hammocks strung with thin ropes between two trees. Two people for each hammock. Aaron and Hannah slept in one. Chris and Lauren in the other. Below, is the last picture of Lauren alive.

What Really Happened Concerning the Death of Lauren Agee?

Hours later, two fisherman find Lauren's body hidden away in a cove. The two fisherman alerted authorities so at this point, only four people know there's a body back there. Before it is publicly announced that there's a body back there, something bizarre happens. One of the fisherman was quoted saying, "Aaron was in a canoe paddling over there and he says to me, 'That could be one of our friends over there,' and I think it's odd because we haven't publicly announced anything about a person in the water."

The last three people to see Lauren alive are briefly questioned and released. Authorities say she fell in the night and drowned in the water. Lauren's body shows something different happened. Her body was never swabbed for DNA, a rape kit was never done, her blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit, there was no water in her lungs so she was dead before she got in the water, and she was floating face down in the lake. People who drown sink.

What Really Happened Concerning the Death of Lauren Agee?

Cause of death was blunt-force trauma with possible drowning. Again, she didn't have water in her lungs. In addition to that, she has bruising on her thighs like someone was sitting on her, trauma to her head and her shoulders, a broken nose, hemorraghing in her throat (her eyes weren't bloodshot so she wasn't strangled), and broken fingers. While these are all consistent with someone falling, they are also consistent with someone fighting. The weirdest thing found on Lauren was an imprint on her abdomen of a 45 degree triangle. Anyone who has gone canoeing, knows that's the bow of a canoe. So someone took her body off of that cliffside and planted it in the cove.

Not only that, but the last three people to see her alive didn't grieve her death. Christopher Stout put on her instagram that it was, "the best weekend ever." Plus these people didn't go to her funeral. On top of that, their stories kept changing.

In an effort to get them to talk, Lauren's family filed a wrongful death lawsuit. Unfortunately, Chris, Hannah, and Aaron plead the fifth. In addition to that, someone has been posting downright nasty things about Lauren and false information about her death online, the IP address is the same street that Hannah and Aaron live on.

What Really Happened Concerning the Death of Lauren Agee?

Chris, Aaron, and Hannah have never even been considered suspects in her death. Something definitely happened on the cliff and I hope her family gets the answers they deserve. The only way that will happen is that if it's re-opened and I dont see thst happening anytime soon.

My theory: there's no way that Lauren tripped and fell in the water. Even if she did injure herself, she would've been caught on some obstruction like a tree or a ledge since the cliffside had tons of those. And if Lauren did fall in the night than the right thing to do was to get help not hide the body. Christoper Stout tried to make a move on her earlier but she made it clear she wasn't interested. My theory is that he tried to make a move on her again, but this time it got violent. Chris has a history of assault, so it's definitely likely that he got violent when he didn't get what he wanted. Now, Lauren was on her period because she had a tampon in, so maybe Chris wanted her to give him oral sex? That would explain hemorrhaging on the throat and bruises on her thighs. Once things got out of hand and Lauren died, Hannah and Aaron helped cover it up.

  • Unfortunately, if there isn't SOLID physical evidence, and the prime suspects refuse to talk, there isn't a case that will stand up in court. It seems clear that these people were involved in her death, but they were smart (by not talking to the police, or leaving evidence around), and the police were lazy or incompetent by doing such a poor initial investigation that it's essentially too late now.

But it's also another example of girls getting drunk/high in mixed company in dangerous situations and/or around strangers. Most of the time, they're around good people, and they get away with it with no harm, but there ARE *bad* people in the world, and when you play the odds, someone is eventually going to lose.

Look at that pic. That guy is a super-douche, and I'm not at all surprised that he killed her and didn't care. He looks exactly like the kind of kid whose parents gave him everything and never told him "no", and got him out of any trouble he was ever in. Such people are deadly dangerous - but if they're good-looking and charismatic, women will ignore the danger. Lauren lost her life for those decisions.

The guy deserves to be locked in a cell and lose the cell - but Lauren would be alive if she'd made better choices. I cringe whenever I hear stories of women putting themselves in such situations (which they do all the time), because they are tempting fate, and betting their health and life.

    • Whats even worse is that lauren asked to stay with her friend, Kassi. But Kassi said, "sorry there isn't any room for you to sleep." Me being the worrier that I am, would've just made room. If she asked to go with Kassi, then it's clear that she wasn't comfortable with them. Like you said, she tempted fate by thinking, "it's fine. It's just one night right? Tomorrow, I'll go with Kassi." Unfortunately her family won't get answers unless it's re-opened and that way, the last three people to see her alive can be pressured into confessions.

  • Some people shouldn't be police because they lack the brain power to do any form of investigation... the cops in this story are a prime example.

  • That's a lot of typing you had to do, but thanks for telling us the story. It's a sad story. I don't understand why the cops didn't investigate more. It's like they didn't even want to investigate it.

  • Where on the planet are you from where police dont do stupid things or aren't stupid, I'd like to know, I'd like to move there

    • I think it depends on your case. I think cops disregarded this as, "another drunk girl pays the price as she slips in the night and drowns herself."

    • Oh well, keep me posted, everywhere I know a guy with a badge and a gun soon gets that superiority complex, never laughs at any reference about napoleon syndrome, never corrects any reference to napoleon dynamite syndrome, and stare blankly at me when I ask how do the sheriffs stay out of , oh, is Baca in prison yet, got bored with the mistrial, is there an exception to the rule yet? There used to always be one, where did it go? Cause I want to move there.

  • I think you are right about it all. The family needs a good sharp lawyer to bring the case upfront to the authorities.

  • That one security guard cop should have been allowed to do the investigation since the others didn't really seem to even try.

Like others have said the most helpful evidence is now probably gone and it's too late to get it now. Honestly, the best chance is if the female friend cracks if she only went along with it out of peer pressure/fear of the other two.

  • Saw the entire thing on YouTube.. and I 100% think it's murder!

First because she was with a guy who has a history of abuse and the one that had a bad rap sheet!

Why would anyone even go out with these guys? That's retarded as fuck

Her out going personality killed her... doing stupid and dangerous things, hanging out with dangerous people/or people who you shouldn't go out with...
    Completely retarded

  • Sounds like incompetent cops. The guy searching in his canoe is suspicious why was the coast guard not alerted. I have my doubts on the couple helping to cover it up though and if everyone was heavily drunk they would have easily slept through it.

  • yep, sounds like murder and incompetent cops

  • It´s hard to believe that in the US there are unsolve crimes but as other commented she put her self in danger, those guys had a violent past. Some people take big risk and think nothing is gonna happen to them but then precaution it´s never to much, it´s always necessary. Those guys might not be in jail for now but certainly they´re capable of commiting another crime like that wherever they go. I just hope they rotten in jail before it even happens.

    • There were a couple of other factors that led to her death. Before they left to go sleep on the cliffside, she asked a friend if she could go with her group instead. Her friend said there wasn't room for her to sleep. At this age, too many people believe the, "it won't happen to me" mindset.

    • Yeah, the last thing they think of is security. I magine they guide their self by looks and the guys actitude. "Because they didn´t look and act like really bad guys probably they aren´t bad guys". There is a saying in Spanish that says: "caras vemos corazones no sabemos", it would be something like: "you can´t judge a book by its cover".

  • I think it was sporadic, instantaneous climate change

    • Yes, because lets joke on a my take about how a girl was brutally murdered.

    • Who sexually assaulted and murdered 6 yr old JonBenét Ramsey?

    • I'm thinking brother or neighbor. But I think it's very weird she was found in her garage and her family never thought to look there. If my parents couldn't find me and I wasn't answering my phone, they would check every square inch of the house.

    • Show All
  • Wow this is insane! Definetely some incompetentcy in this case

  • Playing the Devil's advocate:

Her body was never swabbed for DNA, a rape kit was never done.
They don't generally swap for DNA or do rape kits on people in fall accidents.

Her blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
This would be standard for a young person at a drinking festival, and also a likely reason for someone to stumble to their death.

There was no water in her lungs so she was dead before she got in the water, and she was floating face down in the lake. People who drown sink.
If you are unconscious or dead from a fall, you wouldn't sink.

If the young man got violent, she would have more visible bruises than the two you suggest happened because someone sat on her.
