Surprisingly, only 8% of Americans sleep in the nude, according to a poll of 3,700 people by linen and home decor company Anna's Linens.
So the majority of the population in the United States (and likely the world) does not know what they're missing out on!
I don't simply say 92% because I imagine there are quite a few folks out there that tried and just didn't like it for various reasons (and as a result didn't notice these benefits), and if you're one of them, I am not directing this take towards you because you have already made up your mind (still, you might end up changing it after reading).
But for those of you who never thought to try this or have been reluctant to even give it a try, this might just revolutionalize your nights.
I have always been reluctant to go to bed too soon, and even now I am because I still don't like the thought of the day coming to an end. However, at the same time, night-time has become one of the best phases of the day, which is also as a result of me being more appreciative of the fact that it's the only time of day when I can totally lay back and let go of all stress and do and think whatever I want - time for myself. Also, I was recently going through a period of angst last year which resulted in a lot of poor nights of sleep, so I guess I am sort of compensating by sleeping like a baby now.
Regardless of what level of importance you place on your shut-eye time, here are 8 reasons you should at least try sleeping in the nude:
1. It's Biologically Natural
This is self-explanatory.
2. Bodily Freedom
Your genitalia, your boobs (women), your whole body is always wrapped in restrictive clothing. You may be surprised as to how free your body feels when ou try it at first. This brings me to my next point...
3. Simply: It Feels Great (at least in my opinion)!
When you first experience feeling nothing but your body being sandwiched between two luxorious sheets, you might smile, especially after a hard or stressful day of work.
4. You'll Heighten Your Sex Drive
Don't be surprised if you start to feel aroused, especially in the beginning. In fact, if I haven't masturbated in the last several hours before going to bed, I usually end up doing so right after getting into bed (and then proceed to sleep like a baby). For those of you who sleep with a significant other, this can be an excellent way to increase sexual activity between you two, as nudity is a very effective precursor to sex. Still, if you sleep alone, this might in addition be the best time for you to explore what turns you on. It's also so great chronologically because after having an orgasm, it's typical to feel drowsy and want to fall asleep, so this alone can cause you to sleep more deeply.
5. You May Begin To Love Yourself More
This is especially excellent for those who struggle with bodily insecurities (we all do to some degree). Maybe you spend too much time ruminating on your insecurities rather and not enough time enjoying life and being happy. Spending luxorious alone time in the nude is an excellent way to connect with your body and aid with being more comfortable in your own skin, and that in and of itself will increase your attractiveness.
6. Hormonal Advantages (Your Looks Might Improve)
Sleeping in clothes can overheat your body and reduce the release of hormones such as HGH (growth hormone), which is responsible for skin repair and (of course) growth if still applicable. If you sleep in a cooler environment, you'll release more HGH which will may ameliorate your skin condition and slow aging.
7. Reduce Stress And Be Happy
Likely, as a result of the above reasons, your mood might lift and you'll sleep and wake up happy and relaxed. Not only will you sleep deeper, but this may reduce your overall stress levels. I saw some articles saying that you also reduce the chance of Type II Diabetes and other health conditions. This seems questionable in and of itself, but it is known that approximately 70% of illnesses are stress-related. Regardless, at the minimum, I'm quite sure that if you enjoy this, you will feel less stressed and more emotionally stable at a basic level.
8. Quality Sleep
You'll also probably consequently get higher quality sleep in general. Sure, you may not be able to get in the whole eight hours, but you can do wonders for youreslf by optimizing how well you sleep. You'll wake up more rested and indirectly perhaps even better the quality of your life in general, as a result.
