Girls don't have a sexual orientation?

Straight women, for example, said they were more turned on by male-female sex. But genitally they showed about the same reaction to male-female, male-male, and female-female sex.

Bailey has gone so far as to raise the possibility that women don’t have a sexual orientation, if we understand (as he reasonably does) sexual orientation to mean orientation towards that which arouses us.

In contrast to men, both heterosexual and lesbian women tend to become sexually aroused by both male and female erotica, and, thus, have a bisexual arousal pattern.

women may be more open to same-sex relationships thanks to their less-directed sex drives, Bailey says. "Women probably have the capacity to become sexually interested in and fall in love with their own sex more than men do," Bailey says. "They won't necessarily do it, but they have the capacity."

Some other interesting things as women got older they had a higher chance of reporting "no preference" when asked if they liked male or females. Perhaps women only want to mate with men to spread genes and then they can fall in love with a woman after that is complete?

  • I don't know if I agree with all of that. Being aroused by something isn't the same as sexual preference, i know it sounds weird but hear me out. I think when it comes to arousal (especially with women) it's a lot more complex then a pure natural sexual attraction. Like for me I get aroused by women masterbating, hetero and most homo p*rn does nothing for me but when it comes to masterbation it's more about the gentle private moment and intimacy and wondering what they're thinking about and feeling that turns me on. Yet in reality I find nothing sexually appealing about women

women get turned on by emotional things, physical things, their own imagination about certain situations, so it's not a cut-and-dry sexual attraction

hope i made some sense lol

    • If you think you are straight you are fucked in the head

  • I think this is actually accurate for me. I'm actually a little pansexual or bisexual if you put it that way. They're kinda the same thing. But I lean towards liking guys more than girls though. The ratio is like 90% of me likes guys and 10% of me likes girls kinda.

    • I think the difference between pansexual and bisexual is that pansexuals can be equally attracted to people who identify as non-binary or trans, while bisexuals are strictly attracted to males and females.

    • Well, I sorta thought that being pansexual was liking anyone just based on personality mostly. Honestly, I just like people who have great personalities in general.

    • is the 10% enough for u to ever wanna date or have sex with a girl?

  • I think women are less homophobic than men in general. But I don't think that means they're without sexual orientation.

    • But women are aroused by male and female bodies in the studies which means more fluidity and perhaps bisexuality.

    • @Asker I think it's because men are conditioned to think men on men is bad and it's ok, if not prefered, women be lesbians.

    • That seems reasonable. The cultural training to be disgusted by homosexuality is harsh.
