  • I agree.

If someone shows up to my house party looking like a hobo, I'll treat him like a hobo. If he shows up like a rich kid, fast car, white tuxedo, shades and all, I'll treat him like a snobbish ass.

Revealing attire is revealing attire. There's no "confidence", or "female power", it's just dressing to the familiar notion of sexy, hot and eye candy. Girls can get attention too if they dress multi-layered clothing that is long on the sleeves and pants. But they of course wouldn't get attention from the guys who ogle are hot, sluttish girls. (which is a good thing btw, unless you really want those kind of guys).

  • That is relative. People who are trained to believe that that makes you a slut, will see you as a slut.

    • Would've used the "Jack Reacher" meeting Sandy at the bar scene, but couldn't find it.

  • Unfortunately, I think it's partially true (I say partially because it depends on the person who's judging you... not all people will do the same thing). But I noticed that if I go out in a tight skirt, I get comments from my guy friends who say that I look slutty/easy. It sucks though because I don't consider myself a slut, still being a virgin, and yet I get treated by other people as if I'm easy. I wish we lived in a world where people didn't judge you by your appearance or wardrobe, but sadly we do, and I am also guilty for doing this sometimes.

  • Nah, this is a stupid attitude... I mean if you go around bragging about your accomplishments like many guys do and then you get treated like a wallet, would you like it? Just like men don't like to feel treated a certain way, neither does anyone else.

  • True in a way. Sometimes they are just confident and people can't handle their confidence so therefore they call them sluts etc. Unless the girl if straight up dressed slutty and bends and does all that crazy slut move then yeah she a hoe

  • Yea, it's true. If you dress like a criminal you'll probably be seen as a criminal too. You control how you appear to other people, it's a choice on your part.

  • Sadly yes, I think it's true. Especially with girls dressing revealing, it's not always true for other things. Though I think that being treated like a slut isn't really that bad because at least in public men treat sluts good, pay them attention, buy them drinks... the real issue would be that some of those men use being dressed as a slut as an excuse to rape her

    • Thats does not sound like attention. That's more like "maybe if I buy her a drink and talk smooth, she'll have sex with me?"

    • well it's attention nonetheless , it's not like guys are rude to those girls, they are quite nice. So I'm sure you understand that a lot of girls who don't dress that way get a bit jealous sometimes. A lot of guys say they don't like "sluts", well I wouldn't have guessed it by their actions

  • People use the word slut when they are intimidated by another woman with a lot of confidence. Good girls are boring!

  • Depends on the culture/society and how it defines 'slut' - differences all over the world, even within countries. If you are a morally corrupt twisted rapist, you'll see 'sluts' everywhere to abuse. If you've never come into contact with such sick depravity, growing up perhaps, you wouldn't know a 'slut' if she slapped you in the face with her butt cheeks...

  • How you dress is a message about your personality and your function to other people. You can show others you are more than that, but if you choose to make the superficial bit look a certain way, don't expect everyone to bother to look more in you. Most people only have your exterior to go on.

  • Yes, if you're a superficial sheep that can't see past someone's choice in fashion.

    • I'd look way better in those shorts for sure! xD

    • Yeah my booty be poppin'

  • what is a slut for you?

  • Well people shouldn't be based off on the way they dress, let alone treated any differently because of it. But in the long run, most men wouldn't bring a gal that dresses so extremely revealing home to meet mom.

  • I do not. That is ridiculous.

    • Explain yourself, my Cheeky.

    • Let's just keep our conversation in the USA.

    • Exactly people shouldn't be treated differently based on how they're dressed. The double standard with gender that arises from it is quite disgusting to me too.

  • In my opinion one isn't treated by how she dresses but how she carries herself

  • If that statement is true, that just means people are superficial and a bunch of pricks with zero empathy and love just to hate people for miniscule and unimportant reasons to feel better about themselves.

    • Sadly society is like that :'(

    • I know, people are pricks. That's why I don't associate with a bunch of them. :p

  • girls I look at it this way if you got big boos and a great body if you got it flaunt it in as little clothes you can get away without going outside or in public naked but in your home go naked

  • I agree. Sadly its true.

    • Cultural standards. For instance what you consider conservative here may not be conservative in places where women wear Burquas or perhaps even in places where traditional clothing like a sari is preferred over western clothing like jeans and a tank top.

    • Well that's the thing, this is the USA, there are a lot of Indian people in my area who really get a reaming from their parents for dressing in American garb and then there's people who are very traditional and their parents don't like them dating outside of their race or want to always meet the bf first and so forth and so on. I wish it were something a million miles away but I see it everyday. This is esp. true of the somalian population around here; you see a mix of them and half wear buquas and hijab and half do not and there's a bit contention on the issue.

    • I actually am happy you said this; you're absolutely right because job interviews are objective, you walk in and you are expected to look professional, so there's no doubt that the one wearing the skimpy clothing would be taken less seriously. Bringing it to the streets however is a bit tougher; let's say that we have two women, both going to the beach, one is in a 2-piece that she really likes that just happens to accent her body extremely well while the other is in a 1-piece that she likes that does the same thing. Why is that the girl in the 2-piece is a slut and the girl in the 1-piece not? What happened? Another common element is the presentation of underwear even if unintentional. In this case we have two women identically dressed and conservatively as well, sadly they bend over to pick up something and one is wearing a thong while the other is wearing just regular panties, neither of them intended to show, so why is the thong wearer a slut?

  • Wait so if I walk around with revealing form fitting clothes I should be treated like a piece of meat? I DON'T AGREE!

  • No, just no.

  • That's a pretty stupid attitude about it, but that seems to be the case. If a girl dresses with barely any clothes, guys think its open invitation to treat her terribly. I used to think girls that dressed like that deserved it since her body shouldn't be open to the public like that, but I don't think that way anymore. It probably depend on what exactly she is wearing.

  • Why should a girl who wears a short skirt, get treated any worse than a girl in jeans. I don't get it?

  • When someone CHOOSES to dress like a slut people can only assume she wants to be treated like a slut. If she didn't want to be treated like a slut she would not have CHOSEN to dress like one.

  • People do judge others based on their appearance as wrong as it is but... that's life

  • Well then I guess I must dress like a slut because I wear large t shirts old baggy jeans and old shoes and messy hair when I'm on the bus and when I'm walking to get change for laundry because I get honked at and harassed by guys. I need to put on more clothes!
