The first time I tried anal I didn't find it painful at all, just a little uncomfortable. We worked up to it with fingering and used lots of lube, so maybe that's why. As for how it feels, to be completely honest, and this might be kind of gross, but in my opinion it pretty much felt like taking a poop, but in reverse haha. As someone else said though, it does feel really good when combined with oral or vaginal sex.
