What does it mean when a guy asks "what are you thinking" during sex?

Ok so I've been sleepin with a guy for the past month or so, we know each other a long time (my bro in law n him are good mates) recently we start hooking up after nights out (cos he had expressed to people in our group he had interest in me so I said I'd give it ago) After hookin up maybe 5/6 times he randomly mid week asks me out on a date I went we came home n had amazing sex (the sex is always amazing) up til the date it has all been very casual which I'm ok with cos I'm not sure where I want it to go but last Saturday I invited him over late at night (purely cos I was horny n fancied some amazing sex) he of course called over n we went to bed! The sex is always very hot sweaty intense mind blowing but not without moments of calm soft n slow so during one of our calm soft slow moments we're locked in each other's arms looking into each other's eyes and he comes out with "what are you thinkin" (as in a way a girl would stupidly ask a guy during sex kinda way) at that exact moment I thought did he just asked that but before that I was thinking oh my god f*$k me this is good so I went with I was thinkin god this is good! He smiled then gettin uncomfortable with the whole thing I flipped him over got on top n went back to the hot sweaty intense mind blowin sex just to change the subject! I've often heard of girls askin a guy "what are you thinking" but never have heard of a guy askin a girl that especially during sex!! So just wonderin what it means cos I'm genuinely curious cos I've never heard of it happening before!! Cheers!! :)

First time I've heard of it from a guy. But it's not something you'd hear about unless a girl mentions it as is the case here. A dude would not tell one of his bros/mates something like this.

Maybe he wanted to hear you talk dirty? I don't know. I mean the moment came and went right? You don't think he was being insecure do you? You did say the sex is amazing. If it was just the one time I wouldn't think too much of it. Strange though.

Most likely he just wanted to know. He wanted praise or instruction on what you wanted. It makes a man feel good when you say you want us during the act. It makes it like 5 times better actually.
