I think the sense of being horny and erection are two different things, it's just they usually happen simultaneously. Sometimes we get them for no reason (especially if we're younger) and it's totally non-sexual. Sometimes I see something that's visually appealing and I like it mentally but my body doesn't respond.
At first it's pretty subtle when the erection starts and it's in that stage where it starts to grow and fill up with blood but it's not yet hardened (semi-erect). Sometimes I can feel a tingling sensation, other times I don't even notice it. Once it starts getting hard there's a feeling of stiffness. It feels full and rigid if that makes sense. That's about as plain as I can put it. It's not distinctly pleasurable but it's not at all unpleasant or uncomfortable.
If I'm naked there's also a bit of a sense of weight. I become aware that my penis is heavier and there's a slight sense of it hanging off my body. If I'm clothed it usually gets suspended a bit by my clothes. It sort of amplifies the feeling a bit because I can feel it straining against the fabric.
I don't think there's any nerves on the inside of the penis (in the corpora cavernosa) so you don't feel the sensation of it filling with a liquid (blood), you just feel it getting bigger as the outer parts of the penis stretch. I don't feel any pulsing or pumping.
If I'm particularly hard and I'm lying in the right position I can feel the glans (the "head" of the penis) pushing against the opening of my foreskin. If I flex my pelvic muscles and make my penis jump the tension becomes enough for it to escape and the foreskin slowly and sensuously slides all the way over it, revealing the head completely and it feels really good.
Not really , there really isn't a sensation that you got a boner..

I wouldn't say we actually feel blood rushing through, but the feeling is like an inflating and hardening. That is, once it's nealy completely hard you can actually squeeze it like a muscle which you can't do without it being engorged with blood. It must be similar to when you girls get excited and your lips/clitoris fill with blood.

Some erections seem to be spontaneous without any sexual stimulation, like , more hormones related. Sometimes persist and need to taken care of by ejaculation. Becoming sexually aroused by mental or physical stimulation you don't really feel the blood rushing to your penis, it's more like swelling and stiffening then once fully engorged at the peak of arousal the throbbing feels like blood rushing with no where to go. From flaccid to erect there is some sensation of blood pumping to your penis.
I do feel that. Also when blood flows in it feels somewhat tingly but in a pleasant way. A pulsating and throbbing sensation when erect.

Wow it just seems so natural that its not something you consciously think about. But when you see a nice "view" of a girl and you think about "bustin nutz" inside of her it just gets "hard as a rock"!!
I don't think I can consciously feel blood rushing to it but I definitely notice the penis getting more and more firm. Its such an awesome yet sometimes annoying thing to have. But at the end of the day its a good thing to know its working.
