Why do guys sleep with women they're not attracted to?

I have a friend who is a man whore. I mean that honestly. He sleeps with any woman who has a vagina. He's an attractive guy, nice, but he definitely has some self esteem issues. He doesn't discriminate against anyone, which is actually pretty sad; he has no standards. He recently screwed a stripper in one of the little rooms at the strip club. It's not like he's being praised for his behavior either, or like it's a badge of honor to be such a whore. His friends are actually quite disgusted with it. Besides, the obvious reasons to have sex; why does he sleep with so many women?

2. I've never been with another woman when I'm in a relationship UNLESS the relationship has some deep set problems and those problems start because of the woman in my life calling me 'man whore' etc lol and excessively

Like my separated wife and my current girlfriend get really insecure that I'm a good looking guy who has his share of women's attention, I like looking at women (not gawk or ogle but yes if she catches my attention I will give her a look), they have problems the way I use my language i. e. they say my mannerisms, chivalry etc must be restricted to them and if I extend it to anyone else it's flirting and that I am trying to have sex with her (There are so many examples)
4. They overdo it so much that at a point of frustration I just begin doing it, I'm a guy with an almost unlimited libido whichever way
5. For me it's not a matter of proving anything to myself or low self esteem but with this guy it may well be that
6. There can be so many other reasons why such things occur, maybe a physiological or psychological compulsion that requires treatment
7. Maybe he just likes being that way
8. For me a woman or sex has never been a badge of honor. I've found that whole idea of 'scoring' to show off quite disgusting and a trait of the insecure who want to crow about things they've done and worse ones they haven't even in my teens
9. Honestly? I don't care what the world thinks of anything as long as I know what and why it's happening :-)

Some men have a stronger impulse than others to sleep with as many women as possible. It's a good evolutionary strategy to sleep with lots of women while being in a relationship with one woman you'd 'love' (ie raise children with).

Most strippers are hot, just questionable to most for relationships. If men didn't find them attractive they wouldn't earn money stripping.

While it may be the male nature to pursue casual sex, most do have some standards and dignity.

You said 'ugly girls' as part of your examples?- yes, he could sleep with ugly girls, but why would you expect him to be attracted to someone he considered ugly? It's not that difficult a concept anyway, some men just take anything they can get, whether they are attracted to a girl or not, because that's still better than no sex at all, a bit like the way some girls just settle for bad relationships because it's better (in their opinion), than being lonely. I'm not saying it's right, but it happens.

I don't know if he finds these women attractive. I'm speaking based on my opinions. He may very well find them attractive, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But, his behavior is far past a guy just trying to get it in for pleasure. It's now risky, unhealthy, and potentially dangerous. I mean is he just simply screwed up?

Exactly, he could very well find them attractive, that's another possibility, even if others find them ugly. We were just trying to point out why some guys might sleep with a woman they aren't attracted to, as the original question asks.

Some guys would rather choose sex over masturbation even if the woman isn't attractive at all. Sex still feels better than masturbation regardless of how the person looks. That is the only reason I can think of because personally I think that's pretty gross too.

Well if you think about it, you can look at the situation as if it were a chick sleeping around with multiple men. I do agree. It has to be something deeper. Maybe during their childhood growing up... they didn't get the love they needed from parents and/or siblings. So they use sex as a way to "cope"

Well you will be surprised at how you can drop your standards when you are horny. Something like an animal instinct. Later you go 'why did I do that'. Some guys have less control over this than others.
