Dominant does not = abusive, submissive women submit because they choose to and they do not submit to just anyone. Not all shy women are submissive and not all submissive women are shy. As a shy submissive I can say not all doms like shy women, one dom liked my shyness because it was easier to embarrass me and he thought it was cute when I blushed and giggled.

I don't think he wants I abuse er but I think it comes from men's natural instinct to dominate everything; and serif someone innocent just makes them think of something they can easily dominate. Just like how women someone's have a need to nurture or comfort.
