Nudists Families: Teenagers?

Look, this is NOT one of those pervert questions, so please give me an actual answer. I recently was talking to an older friend who mentioned one of his high school friends had become a nudist. He said his friend brought his wife and kids up to a nudist resort on weekends. I was shocked. Bringing your KIDS to a NUDIST resort? Something about that seems extremely illegal. I thought he was joking, but then he pulled out his phone and pulled up the resort's website. It's a "family" resort, and to my astonishment, it says they have many age groups of kids come there, everything from elementary to high school. High school kids going to a resort and seeing other naked high school kids seems ridiculously wrong and even MORE illegal. So I decided to clear up my confusion by asking actual nudists on this site. Questions: 1. Does a nudist boy get an erection when he sees the girl of his dreams naked? How would she react? 2. Do nudist kids ever touch each other? If so, isn't that illegal? 3. How do the parents of nudist teens feel about their kids seeing other kids naked? 4. How does a nudist boy feel about getting to see naked girls his own age every day? 5. Why does the U. S. government allow nudist kids to see each other, and adults to see kids? A VERY important question... 6. How do nudist teens date? Because things you can do while clothed become sexual when naked. Examples: -kissing -cuddling -hugging 7. How do nudist kids feel about being naked? 8. Do nudist teens ever talk about their bodies with their friends? Like, "hey, your boob has a red patch on it" or "hey, your balls keep moving around"? Cause that seems STILL illegal. Please answer ALL the questions so I can better understand how nudist families work. Especially how they manage their kids.

Well, I've got some very insightful answers (mostly from guys), so thanks for all of your honesty and helping me clear up any misconceptions I had about nudism. I would pick a Most Helpful Answer, but they're all too helpful for me to pick just one...

  • 1) not in a public setting. Possibly when alone.
    2) yes, but in the sames way as clothed kids in public. Not illegal.
    3) if the kids have been raised as nudists then they don't even think about it.
    4) probably pretty happy, but not as much and as sexually as one might think. Kind of like nice, but not too big a deal.
    5) the government doesn't care about nudists in non-sexual events/settings. And it is not just the US. Nudism is practiced all over the world.
    6) teens dating means going to movies, skating, etc., which are done outside the nudist community, so they are clothed. Sometimes dances are held in the resort and there is touching, which they might get excited over, but it is in view of all so they 'cool their jets'.
    7) if they are naked, they are fine with it. No one forces them to remove their clothes.
    8) nudist teens are much more open to comments about bodies, like 'how did yo get that scar on your breast' but they already know balls move around so they wouldn't comment on that. And there is nothing at all illegal about their talking about bodies, any more than talking in sex ed in school.

    You have a lot of wrong beliefs about making the body or talking about it illegal. Sexual things are great in sexual settings, but nudity does not have to be about sex. Primitive cultures had lots of nudity or partial nudity without it being a problem and yet when sexual situation arose they were just as sexually happy about the body as we are.

    • Well, thanks for your thorough and complete answer. Forgive me for not knowing much about nudity, I've just never actually met or known a nudist person.

    • Understandable to a point. But expecting teens talking about their bodies to be illegal in a culture where it is discussed in sex-ed classes and is so open on the internet strikes me as strange.

  • I'm not a nudist, but from what I can read, there's a distinct difference between nudity and sexuality in their minds. So

    1) Erections are considered a faux pas.
    2) It's not illegal for two children to sexually touch each other, but nudism is about not wearing clothes, it's not an orgy setting
    3) Again, nudists believe that the human naked body is nothing to be ashamed of or sexualized, so they wouldn't mind.
    4) Must be pretty cool for him - but if they grew up in that setting, it's kinda like they've been there, done that already.
    5) It's not illegal to "see" an underage person in the nude. It's illegal to take pictures of those underage people in a sexual way. For example, a naked underage person just standing there isn't necessarily considered P*rnography (otherwise anyone who watched the movie "pretty baby" with Brooke Shields - she did a nude scene at 12 - watched child p*rn). But a picture of an underage person in a sexual pose with their genitals exposed would be considered child p*rn

    7) They're probably used to it. I don't think nudist parents would force their children to be naked if they were upset about it.
    8) Underage people "talk" here all the time about their body flaws... must not be illegal.

    • Well, you've done a pretty good job of answering all my questions... but you said erections are considered a faux pas. How can the guy control it? How are people supposed to react? How would a girl react? Would she consider it a complement, or what?

    • Honestly, I doubt it happens that often. You have to figure that the appeal of nudity to you and I is that we don't get to see it all the time. But in a nudist colony - it's everywhere. And let's be honest - they're not known to be filled with playboy bunnies. More often it's overweight middle-aged people.

    • ... And their kids. Well, I guess that makes sense. I was just wondering how teens would take it. But I guess the excitement would wear thin after a while... So thanks for your answer.

  • I guess the kids would see that not everyone's bodies are perfect. They're lucky to be exposed to that as a kid and not growing up with a body complex. What's the big deal about nudity? The way people dress now... they're practically nude already.

  • I'm not a nudist but I don't get why people are so uptight about nudity. It's also not illegal for children to see other people naked. There's only a problem when someone over 18 makes sexual advances towards a child.

At public nudist resorts that rarely happens (erections) but when it does the boy can get in the water or lay on his stomach or just put a towel over it until it goes down. Girls don't really care in guys get hard as it's natural.

    • Exactly, nudist or textile!! It's pretty much the same story! Kids are just kids and only think to go play to whatever.. teens deal with the same insecurities and curiosity!! Boys gets erected by anything, girls suffer of the same social body expectations and both are getting curious about sexuality.. the main difference will be as nudist we understand it and are much more open to answer sensible questions than most of textile's family. My daughter knew early about what erection was.. what it meant.. and how to react.. and my son that boobs are just boobs..

  • I am a nudist with adult children (son and daughter). We frequently attended resorts while they were growing up, so I'll try to address your questions.

    Believe it or not, being a nudist is the most non-sexual thing you'll ever do with your clothes off. I never recall erections being a problem for anyone, including me or my son. We had policies in place to address this issue. Always carry a towel to sit on, and to cover yourself should something inadvertently "pop up." It just wasn't a problem.

    Again, never had an issue with that.

    It is just a state of undress. Social nudism breaks the link between nudism and sexuality.

    Again, some of your questions seem to indicate that you view social nudism equal to sexual stimulation. Trust me when I say this is NOT the case.

  • Well there is a lot to answer here...

    First, I'm the father of 2 kids (daughter 14 and son 16) and we live on a nudist area. It means everyone is naked most of the time according with the weather.

    Adults or kids doesn't change anything at all. Usually there is a period where kids gets more shy and prefer wearing clothes (usually around puberty) and after they chooses to continue or not. For my kids, my son start wearkng clothes around 12. A years later he didn't mind so it was quick for him. But mh daughter, she gots shy at 10.. maybe11 and she just getting more confortable with her body now.. she doesn't go outside naked.. only sometime at home.

    Its totally legal to be nudist with kids. But if any kids fill a complaint because some did sexual stuff intentionally infront of them, you will get arrested for sure.

    (By the way.. an erection is not a sexual thing)

    Erection is quite normal and happens all the time. When you get one, you just go away and let it pass.. Usually it happens once or twice if you really bad at controlling yourself. For sure, for teenagers, its trickier.. my son does get erection often at first.. by whomever really!! My wife has really big breast and indeed he has been turned on.. not in a sexual manner but just by looking at titties.. we had to talk about it with him so he doesn't stress out. We told him it was normal and doesn't need to be ashamed when it happens. When he tolds us about what was scaring him the most "hugging my wife an gets erected" well she laughed and said.. whatever!! I know breast is really something teenagers are into.. but he doesn't need to be stressed by that.. she also saids.. you can grab them if you like and maybe it will fixed the problem... Every parents deal with those situations with different things, but you definitely must not be scared of talking about those topic.. and maybe if your mom is open minded like my wife, you will be able to touch real womam boobs at 14 like my son.. hahah

  • I'm a nudist. A lot of nudist parents bring their kids to nudist resorts. If teens see other teens naked, it's not a big deal. It's better that they see what different people look like. Nudism has nothing to do with sex. It's just people enjoying the natural state with others. If nudist teens are dating, they might have sex. But how is that really different than clothed? They're going to do private stuff in private. It's totally legal for teens to "enjoy" each other in the US. When they're together at a camp/resort, they are just enjoying being nude. When nudist teens meet other teens at these camps, they have nothing to hide and everything to gain through friendship.

  • People who grew up as naturalists aren't aroused at the mere d ight of a nipple because they've seen it their whole lives. They also tend to have very positive body images. There's none of that "is/are my boobs/dick big enough/round enough/whatever enough". If they do get an erection, a towel is used to cover until it passes. Don't confuse naturalists with swingers.

  • Yes we go regular to a nudist caravan site, when the girls were little. We first found it by accident but before we went out of the van we had a talk about it. And everyone will have no clothes on. Before we were really finished talking three of the young girls were out off and naked. The oldest daughter said I think you have your answer and she stripped off and went to join her sisters.
    But they always did in summer in the back yard when the paddling pool was up.
    The middle two were going to take the caravan this year with the family and husbands it to the same place. But covid puts stop to that...

  • It's not sexual to be nude or naked.
    To many see it as wrong when it's not.
    we all have respect for each other. We all seen naked people before so it's not sexual or a big deal. If you teach and show your children from a Young age that it's ok and normal and we all come in all shapes and sizes and look different hopefully it will give themselves comfortable with who you're.

  • First off nudism and sex are separate. A child brought up naked doesn't "learn" it is wrong or sexual as Americans and religious freaks like to teach. Boys will have erections at all ages but seldom and if they do they stay in the water or wrap up in a towel. Young boys are the same but given more forgiveness in not covering up. Adults seldom get erections. Parents are happy to see their children enjoying being naked. As a kid I did not care if they saw me even with a boner. It was just normal. Even masturbation was considered normal. teens dating well I am gay so never did that. My friend and I use to go somewhere to jack off. They just said have fun!

  • It's not at all illegal. The only nudity thats illegal for people of any age is public nudity. These areas are on private property, and as such, as long as they're not visible from public property, no decency laws are being violated.

    Nudists (and most of us non-nudists, really) are able to separate nudity from sexuality. The things you pointed out -kissing, hugging, cuddling- are no more sexual nude than they are clothed, except in your head.

    Anyway, if kids are brought up around nudity, it's normal for them.

    As for nudist kids having sexual thoughts or doing sexual things with each other, that's no different really from the sex play that children often engage with each other anyway. In fact, it probably happens less, owing to the fact that they have less reason to be curious about each others' bodies.

    • As for getting errections, in a nudist setting, you're expected to cover it until it subsides.

    • Nudist etiquette states that you do not sit on furniture bare butt, so you usually take a towel wherever you go. So you would just hod it in front of you. People may figure why, but would not be bothered since you are covering it.
