Do teachers have crushes on students?

Im not talking about: Paedophiles Liking a student because she's hot, and then thinking of her in sexual way (Yes i mean Perverts) I an talking about The normal average teachers who like a student or have a small crush on them, maybe because they are attached to them or something. But they don't act on it And take the students with full seriousness while teaching. They just have feelings for them., Does this really happen? Because I can tell when a teacher has a crush on me. And im not even hot.

  • Yes, it can happen. I was a teaching assistant in a Women's Studies program and although you are in a position of power over the students, it doesn't make them any less objectively attractive. That said, I never did anything about it nor did I ever allow myself to become emotionally attached in any way to the students. All the same, being a teacher doesn't change the fact that some of the women in your class who are often a few years younger than you (at least in my case) can share many of the characteristics you find attractive in a woman.

In my case however, I had no crushes on any women in my class because I refused to see them that way and because the position of power makes such relationships fairly problematic. Remember, teachers are people too and in the case of colleges, the teachers are often students themselves (graduate or doctoral) so they aren't that far removed from undergraduates such as yourself.

My advice is just to be aware that universities take sexual harassment very seriously and that you have a right to not be bothered by a teacher who is making inappropriate advances on you. But yes, as your question initially asked, some teachers do have crushes on students and certainly, many if not all teachers reasonably close in age to their students may find some of them attractive.

    Hope that helps =)

    • What if the teacher's like 38 years old but the girl is only 15?

    • That is a wholly different matter entirely. The most advisable thing I would suggest is to go to a parent and inform them. This avoids the teacher from covering it up or lying to try to discredit you. The school will also take the word of a parent more seriously as the school could face legal issues by ignoring the parent. Lastly, it will minimize student gossip which will not only lead to a more desirable resolution in which he stops or is reprimanded more seriously but it will also keep you from being teased about the experience by keeping it lower key. For this reason, I would suggest you go to a parent and report it to them. I should let you know that many states have what are called mandatory reporting laws meaning that when abuse of a minor is suspected in a school setting, the person told must contact the authorities. I just wanted to let you know so you aren't surprised if that happens. I still feel the best way is to go to a parent or adult you can trust.

    • No no lol I'm just asking if it's possible that a 38 year old could have feelings for a 15 year old girl.

  • yes its normal for teachers to have crushes or even serious love
most university professors end up falling for there grad students, while its rare in schools but colleges are a place where tensions usually run high specially when the teachers are not that old

  • Or you just imagine they have a crush on you because you like to know you are attractive enough to men like you?

Sometimes they do though. And it's wrong

    • So if catching teachers looking at you many times during the class, and also friends noticing that is what you call 'imagination' , then yes, its my imagination

    • Your imagination tells you that tgey are looking at you because they think you are hot. But there are a lot more different reason they are looking at you

    • I just mentioned , i don't think i am hot. So i know they are not staring at me for that! "crushes not based on looks", i am talking about those crushes here

  • Of course it can happen. Teachers are humans too.

  • Yes that happens and just don't get caught.

  • It happens all the time. Girls often have crushes on their teachers as well and flirt with them. Most teachers have the good sense not to act on the attraction.

It's not perverted to be attracted to teenage girls. Men were once teenage boys, and teenage girls were our first exposure to sexual attraction. Just because we get older doesn't make the girls any less attractive. We simply learn not to act on the attraction.

  • yes.. it happens mostly in case of girls but not much in case of guys! :)

  • Yes, it happens. A professor at my college ended up leaving because of this.

  • it is actually just opposite , i hear A LOT confession about students who had crush with their teacher from various forum , even the teacher is married

  • When in doubt... Van Halen

  • Yes they do. I had a relationship with my teacher, but i broke it off cause he started showing how he feels towards me at school.

  • Never happens, except in your head, and in prison.

    • You didn't get my question. At all.

    • Probably a good thing I didn't then. :-)
