I'm a dominant, so obviously submissive women are the best fit for me. Keep in mind that there are submissive guys that want dominant women, and guys (and girls) who prefer to keep things as "equals."
But as kheserthorpe stated, while I had dominant tendencies as a teen, I lacked the confidence and experience to really assert myself that way. I didn't get comfortable with that until my late 20s, and this is a VERY common issue in the BDSM world (a lack of younger male dominants). Remembering back as a teen and my early 20s, there were very few guys my age who were dominant, and most of those were "bad-boy" assholes.
Just something to keep in mind.
I like to switch it up a bit. I run a big lab and have 100 people who I am responsible for. I like being the boss and most times in sex I am the boss and am dominate. Not beat you dominate, but I am forceful in sex.
But there are some times where I am sooooo tired of being the boss that I want to be told just what to do. I go to my submissive side and will do anything you tell me.
You name it, I will do it when I am in my submissive role.
People can also change as they age and gain more experience. My current Dom used to actually be a sub which is nice because he can commiserate in some ways and understands how I feel about certain situations.
I think that when you start thinking about sex as a girl you always imagine yourself in a passive role because that's what it feels like society expects of you. Obviously there's nothing wrong with that though! Sex is about getting to explore new and different sides of yourself! There's no "wrong" way to be as long as you're being safe, having fun, and not hurting anyone/anything else. Just be you :)
Doesn't matter what guys like on average. It matters what you like. Sort that out then limit you're dating to guys compatible with that.

@khesertheope, exactly. I like guys who are dominant but necessarily controlling. I never had a sexual relationship (or a relationship at all.) I would be dominant if he asks me too as well but other than that I'll just let him be dominant. I hear a lot on the internet that guys like to be dominated so yeah i was just if thats the majority of guys.
