We've met online for a month now. We've discussed shared interests, and a lot of interesting things we had in common. Everything we spoke about was platonic and about work, nothing else. Then after a while, I spoke of perverted men online bothering me. He then consolated me that if it comforts me, he will not propose to me then.   Its only awkward because you're not committed and you have no idea where the relationship is going. If you even announce 'Want to hook up again' and you both agree takes away the awkwardness because it crosses that line and shows promise. But if you just hook up, and have no direction, then it's like a one night stand, then emptiness, then losing a friend. This is why people want to be in relationships before they hook up because they know that can continuously hook up.
