Why do so many men think woman deserve to be raped?

I have been raped, so I know the pain. I dress pretty modestly. One of my friends said that woman who dress slutty deserve it. That does not make any sense. Woman wear skimpy clothes for all kinds of reasons. When it is hot outside I like to dress in my crop top, and booty shorts. It just feels better. I also see many woman go out with just a swim suit on. Men take their shirts off to. When men wear barely anything nobody cares. Do you think woman should be raped if thy dress skimpy?

    > she wants it just as much as I do, therefore she's saying No Sex to build the drama, titillation and carry no reputation later for Doing it
    > she does it with others all the time & just jerking me around tonight... only to Do It later with me, so let's just get it done w/o playing games
    > she thinks it's OK to me/others all stiff from looking at her ample figure skin exposed but if she thinks I'm not going to DO something to relieve this sexual stress, she's got to be taught a lesson... besides, she must not only like the sexual attention but advertising what she likes behind closed doors... she's been around the block all righty
    > someone playing with matches like she is ... in that dress... a billboard ad for what's underneath and what's it's good for... is about to meet the real man of her obviously pent up desires

these are the same great thinkers that consider BJs "not sex" therefore "not cheating" in marriage

Consider also how the Muslims think...

Yes, most of my beautiful GFs have been raped in one form or another, mostly date rape by those rich, entitled, alcohol pushers/schemers and players/womanizers. The worst case was one's drunken dad.. but happily I can report there's nothing wrong with her sexual appetites today... but don't sneak into her house day/night unannounced... you might get shot.

Hope you don't have to struggle with this too long. There's sunny days ahead of you.

    • Entitlement is a two way street. Why have I never, ever, been assaulted. I've been on hundreds of dates. You could learn from me. :))

    • Exactly the thinking all these raped GFs had... prior to date rape. One GF even boasted it was physically impossible to rape her, though she led a sheltered dating life with full time BFs... (she would abuse)

  • I think this is one of those things that people misunderstand. Do I think any woman ever deserves to get raped, no? Do I think her dressing skimpy alone puts her on the radar of a bad guy, no. Do I think how a woman acts and dresses leaves an impression upon a man about what she wants and is looking for, yes. Do I think that could possibly lead to trouble, yes.

I'll never say a woman deserves to be raped, because that's absolutely not true. Nobody should have to go through a trauma like that. However, I do believe that there are certain women that dress sexy to get a man's attention and when you pair that with acting sexy and teasing a guy sexually by kissing him aggressively or putting your hand on his leg by his man area, you're sending out a message of what you want or what kind of girl you might be. That's when I think the girl puts in herself in a position to be preyed upon by a man. Because, there's some bad people out there and not all of them will be okay with being teased like that, with nothing in return and will decide to take what they think they are owed or were promised. That's my thoughts. I don't think it's the clothes alone persay that cause the problem, I think it's actions paired with the clothes that have a lot to with it also.

By the way, I'm sorry that happen to you. No one derserves that! I'm sorry.

  • First, very very sorry about your assault.
    It should never happen.
Experts say that date rape is one of the most preventable crimes.
For the most part, lack of communication is the culprit.
when I go out with a guy, I let him know waay in advance of what I am willing to do, if anything, and what is not acceptable.
A girl cannot lead with her body and expect to to play the guy like an on/off switch.
We seem to think we have only ourselves to consider.
    Talk to your date.
    Give him some early respect.
    Protect yourself, protect him.
Sex is not a one way street.
    Never was.
    Love you all

    • Holy shit. You usually give the most radical ridiculous advice. This opinion though was spot on. =]

    • I'm serious. My mom taught us to be forward and up front with guys When I made it very clear I wasn't down with anything with him, most just blew it off as Ok. Yeah some guys didn't even call or show up again. I lay my cards on the table. If I'm in the mood I let the guy know it. If I;m not I let him know that too. I don't wait and start that no no crap after he's licked my panties off. I don't ever want to be pushed into anything I also don't want to be partly responsible for some guy sitting in jail over something that could be totally avoided. :))

  • It's honnestly a hard question.

Obviously nobody deserved to be raped to begin with, why would you force an human being into something just because of your pulsions? It's like becoming and animal without any thoughts.

However there's another side to the story, rape is part of this world balance (yes, believe it or not...) You need bad things to happen for good things to be recognized, it is an ultimate fact.

Furthermore, while rape has been around for quite long, it is important to note what does cause "rape"... We currently live in a society where the gender balance is going in the opposite way, where woman are earning some kind of control over men due to the new education made in order to "respect" women leading to an increase of unsatisfied men and an overall inferiority feeling toward the female gender. All of it start to get to a lot of man brain and turns into "hate".

I wouldn't say I agree with those thoughts as I prefer to simply stay out of humanity madness but I do know how most men feel toward women and I do think that it is simply an expected outcome created by our society...

However fear not, I am sure that they will soon control the libido of men at birth and I am guessing rape will then somehow dissapear due to the overall brainwash.

  • Nobody deserves to get raped and rapists are the lowest of scum in my opinion. The failt lies entirely on them as well.

That isn't to say women can't take preventative measures. Wether you like it or not they way you dress can attract all kinds of attention which is something to be aware of.

Some sick bastards won't care either way. I have my lover carry pepperspray and a blade especially if I won't be around to protect her.

    • There are women rapists out there though

  • I don't know any men who think that women deserve to get raped under any circumstances. Yeah, I'm sure there are assholes out there who believe that but it certainly isn't the majority of men.

    • I don't either. It's a common female fantasy though.

  • Nobody deserves to be raped. Nobody.
If we're saying women need to dress modestly, how about training our boys not to look at a woman like she's a sex toy if she chooses to show some skin?

  • I think the guys who say stuff like that are the ones who have raped before , or would rape if they got the chance

  • "One of my friends said that woman who dress slutty deserve it."

This lad needs help. Or a good hiding.

    • I'd hope not that many men all think women deserve to be raped. Sorry that it happened to you, not that I can even begin to imagine, but I hope you're okay now. I hope some justice was brought to the disgrace of a "man" that did it to you too.

  • No one, male or female, deserves to be raped. Guys need to have some self control, but girls should not intentionally wear things that could provoke guys. No I don't think skimpy clothes means she is asking for it whatsoever, but girls should have a little modesty in what they are wearing out in public, so that some ignorant guy doesn't get the wrong idea.

  • Why do so many men think woman deserve to be raped?

I don't think there is even a single healthy creature on the planet who thinks that.

  • I chose D but also B.

  • Hardly anyone thinks women deserve to be raped. So your description of 'many' is grossly inaccurate.

    • You'd be surprised...

    • Yes sorry. I just see it a lot. Men blaming the victim.

    • That's a lie go on an app called meet24 I got that everyday at least 3 times

    • Show All
  • because those guys who say stuff like that are bitter to the core

  • Where did you come up with this "fact" of yours... the only thing I hate worse than rapist are people love to generalize what men think. So just so we are clear rape is always wrong regardless of gender.

I am sorry that you have gone through that but please don't put me in the category.

    • "the only thing I hate worse than rapist are people love to generalize what men think" Hoping you're exaggerating? lol

    • @rthomas43 Of course that's an exaggeration, it was only to prove how irritated I am when people want to group all men together. In hindsight yes, I should have phrased that better.

    • I agree though, it's incredibly frustrating when people insist on putting up gender divides on topics where there are none.

  • Suggesting that one take preventative measures is not the same thing as "victim-blaming." The cold hard fact is that we have to live in the world that exists, not the world as we wish it was.

    • Another cold, hard fact: clothing has zero correlation with rape victimization.

  • People say that?

I can UNDERSTAND the argument saying that women wearing skimpy clothing can lead to a rapist attacking her. Granted I don't agree with that argument.
I have never heard people say they deserve to be raped though.

  • I have never said that nor heard anyone said that. WTF.

  • That's the rape culture people often mentioned, they blame fault on victim. I do not see it is fault of victim at all. People dress what they like but doesn't mean they deserve such traumatic treatment. Sure for those who dress skimpily they need to be extra cautious about it as they would definitely attract stares.

    • It's really a matter of communication. That said, clothing has a language of all it's own. No girl or guy has the right to force, no matter the circumstances. But, if you get involved in a heavy make out session with no advance agreements, you're both playing with fire. In California if a pedestrian steps off the curb, all traffic must come to an immediate halt. Smart people never push that advantage They cross in the cross walk where they are expected, and the driver does not get caught off guard. Rejection can be a very hurtful experience. I realize I've got the leading cards in the sex deck I'm just careful how I play them. HHHHH

  • I hit B before I saw D

  • People who rape others need to spend a really long time in jail.

    • You'd better dump and avoid that 'friend'.

  • First not many think that what ever ever u said.
N today's world everyone's mi d got distracted by negative force so some men think that women who dress too sexy got raped... N it's true
But sometime girls also need to take care of themselves by now wearing too sexy dresses in public
Coz actresses n models have their bodyguard n protection by any other kind wearing that dresses
So better change your mind too a little bit

  • some might talk like this in "guy talk" we sometimes make such black humor jokes but we don´t actually think rape is ok, you got this totally wrong. by the way nobody deserves being burnes alive either.

  • Female has wear whatever, however and whenever.
Whoever raped female should be awarded dead panalty.

  • I'm not saying that they should be raped, but if you wear slutty clothes when you have a smoking hot body, you just can't expect nothing to happen. there are rapists in the community and they're not afraid to make a move about it.
