There have been studies proving the fluidity of female sexuality(i don't have enough expr to post a link, look up dr meridith chivers research), thus heterosexuality can't exist in females. Many women incorrectly label themselves as straight, i have seen women on here say they have had sex with other women and enjoyed it, even masturbating to the thought of it later, but still say they are straight, wtf? A lot of girls admit to being bi-curios, but bi-curiosity contradicts itself in it's own definition, semantically a bi-curious person is bisexual, so bi-curios=bisexual anyway. And don't say well i would never date a women, that means nothing, as romantic attraction has nothing to do with sexual orientation, it deals only with sexual attraction and arousal. Also a lot of women can only be aroused by a man who they have emotional connection with, thus the catalyst to this sexual attraction are non gender specific, non sexual traits, so these can situation-ally go over to women, as it isn't biologically hard wired sexual attraction to a gender. Anthropologists say that the most accurate thing to say is that women don't have a sexual orientation, and most chose men for non sexual traits, as in situations and acts attract women, not people.

For me and I know fr at least one of my friends, we dont necessarily identify as straight. When people meet me etc im straight but I get turned on by women more easily, I've been with a few women too but on the whole I've mostly dated guys.
MY friend does identify herself as bisexual but it has no affect on how she acts. She'll go out and have sex with a guy, and comment on a girls appearance just like anyone else.
An aspect to this being the fact that people aren't always openminded? So for me to start chatting up a girl ill get shot down more easily than if it were a guy but it doesn't affect behaviour.

no. if we look at it in both ways and views and see bisexuality as something genetic based or simply a developed sexual 'fetish' or behaviour it's something that happens between a minor group and will always remain the same.

Women are not bisexual, men are not bisexual. Bisexuality/homosexuality is either a possibility for everyone men and women to lean towards them 'unwillingly' as they grow up (nobody willingly chooses his/her fetishes and which one he/she wants to develop), or is partially genetic that again in both ways it will be specific to a group that are under those influenced.

and I don't find the first explanation as reasonable as the second one. So I don't think all women even have the possibility to be bisexual and as the statistics show homosexuals/bisexuals in both sexes are a minority in the society and most men and women are heterosexual.

  Statistics based of of what people said, you aren't straight just because you say you are. The studies had women who identified as straight proven to posses sexual fluidity thus by definition cancelling out the possibility of heterosexuality. If it is innate genetics or based of influences during life and not directly hormonal, then they are still bisexual, the reason why is just different.

  Sexual fluidity is for both men and women. In ancient Greece pederasty and following it bisexuality in older ages was relevant between many males of the society if we want to put it this way. so you are not bi now because of cultural reasons. you are actually not just possible to be bi in my opinion you have the tendency to become completely gay.

The tests today show sexual fluidity in only females, while men are strictly straight or gay and are target specific with arousal. Fuck, influences over time even cause phenotypical changes (but not in one generation) such as darwin's finches, women have evolved to fluidity while men have evolved to specific orientation.

  no the actual historical evidence from Greece, parts of Rome, Persia, and whole Middle east shows that sexual fluidity exist in males and male sexual orientation is culturally constructed.   These are all socially constructed from childhood. because we had societies with the "custom" of bisexuality specifically for their men while their women were heterosexuals. As I said If you were in such a society from childhood and were raised with their sexual and cultural standards you would be bisexual or gay by now. you are bisexual and there is no denying in it. Today's society with 2000 years Christian anti-gay standards doesn't show anything. You are bisexual. and could be gay. deny it as long as you want.

  Men have the possibility of becoming bisexual over time, not from birth in one generation. Women with conservative upbringing told that they wold burn in hell for all eternity if they where attracted to the same gender where attracted to women in tests (religious Texans), men didn't show this, fact is a few of these tests have been conducted (they have scientifically sound do research if you want) and never has a women claiming to be straight been proven to be anything but bisexual, and never has a man claiming to be straight been proven to be anything but straight. So currently women are bisexual (the reasons don't matter) and men are straight (at least the default for both). If you go by semantics, able to be sexually attracted doesn't equal orientation (especially if it can't happen currently in a generation), currently being sexually attracted equals orientation, thus women are the only ones with current fluidity.

Based on my personal experience I would have to say yes, most women are bi-sexual. The majority of women who I have dated or had as friends either outright said they were bi or said they were straight but found a few females attractive but asked me to keep it a secrete out of fear of what their friends/family would think.

  show me that research (as in actual scientific research not some article) that shows men are bisexual, i can't post a link (not enough expr) but look up dr meridith chivers research, it says only women are bisexual while men are straight (no sign of political motivation in it at all). A less serious one was also conducted by playboy magazine, where it was shown that women where aroused by a lapdance by both male and female strippers while men where only aroused by the lapdance from the female stripper.

That is the whole point that I am trying to make. When doing "scientific" research you have to be very careful of everything, including the English language. Even something as simple as how they define a word can change the outcome.
  
  For a long time the word "addiction" only applied to humans even though animals can clearly become addicted as well. This is a fact the Tobacco companies hid behind with their research even as they did tests to make rats more addicted to their products while claiming there was no evidence of addiction.
  
  The point is that even before the research starts, the results can be twisted to show any answer the person doing the research is hoping to prove. This is why we see conflicting scientific studies all the time, about every single subject, such as gays, tobacco, global warming, low carb versus low fat, etc.

  Look at the research i proposed (dr chivers) and see how much more credible and thorough it is, paying attention to semantics and how scientifically sound it can possibly be, stats i have seen from pornhub always have lesbian as the most popular genre for women, and gay being around about 8th or 9th for men (i have just seen it but can't post a link, look at categorical statistics from pornhub).

It can easily use semantics to put their own interpretation of what it means to be bisexual onto other people. Society influences people in ways that no research can possibly understand. This is why psychology is so often treated as a pseudoscience. When men dominated the field we heard nonsense theories about how women had penis envy. Now that women dominate the field we hear nonsense about men wanting to get pregnant, and feeling like we are only half a woman and not a full man because of our lack of a second X chromosome. Women grow up seeing the female form is beautiful, and are bombarded with products to make them even more beautiful. Men are taught at best our looks don't matter, and we have to make up for it by having money and status. There is no telling how that effects peoples interpretation of what is beautiful and sexy.

And if the sexualization of women causes women to be attracted to women, then how come gay men aren't aroused by women, they have been proven to only be aroused by men (and as i said, it's irrelevant, if we planted a chip in a women's brain that forced them to be attracted to women, it still means they are attracted to women and thus bisexual).   It is relevant in that it can alter the results of the study. It can make something look natural when if fact it can be the result can be influenced by society. Such as the man being so afraid of being viewed as gay that he learns to see the male form as ugly. They did not do the study in a controlled group where men and women being gay has the same social implications as no such control group exists. Therefore the study does not meet the same scientific standards that other types of science is held to.

I think women IN GENERAL tend to be more open minded with regards their own sexuality and that of others. Although that is a generalization. Having said that, I most girls do identify purely and simply as straight.

  I think it does actually, if you're bisexual and you're a woman, you're very easily accepted by men but it's not always the other way around. So i'm sure when some guys have those thoughts or want to explore those thoughts, it's way more difficult for them. When you know something is accepted, you're more open and comfortable doing it. And like olala said a lot of girls just use it to get attention honestly. I'm not saying you're right or you're wrong but I think societies acceptance of it does play a big part in it.

I am Bi, always have been have known it since I was a teenager, I think that all women think about it, few act on it unless they are with a male partner and even fewer on their own unless they don't like men at all. Me personally I love both, physically, emotionally etc ... and it's equal. I am married and my husband allows me to be with women, I have the best of both worlds.

  No, you can have sex with someone and not be attracted to them. It's entirely possibly. Being heterosexual means you have to be sexually ATTRACTED to peoole of the opposite sex. Also mental, physical and emotional attraction comes into play as well. You clearly don't know the semantics of sexual orientation if you conclude that most women are bi.

  No, being sexually attracted and sexually aroused are two different things. I can look at someone naked and the sight can arouse me. However that doesn't necessarily mean I'm attracted to them. For me to be classed as homosexual, I would have to be both sexually aroused and attracted to the person. Most women, including myself, have no desire to sleep with another women.

I can easily have sex with a man who I find unattractive because he has a penis that he can put inside my vagina. I DESIRE that feeling.   Trust me, you're not a woman. It's entirely possible to have sexual desires towards a female but not be attracted to her. Sexuality is complex and misunderstood as it is so I doubt a studying degree would cover the many individual differences in people regarding sexuality. You explain how sexuality isn't black and white (it is back and white for most men) then by definition heterosexuality wouldn't exist as fluidity isn't a trait a straight person can have.
