  • It is NEVER safe to use oil-based lubricants (skin lotions, baby oil, Vaseline, Crisco, cold cream, or even whipped cream) with latex condoms because oil dramatically weakens latex and definitely increases the chances of condom failure/breakage. For example, mineral oil is a common ingredient in many lotions. According to the CDC, within as little as 60 seconds of exposure, a 90% decrease in latex strength will occur in a condom when using an oil based lubricant. Only polyurethane condoms can safely be used with oil-based lubricants, so if you must use an oil-based lubricant, please use only polyurethane condoms. Polyurethane condoms also work well with water-based and silicone-based lubricants.

  • It's not harmful but it's better to use water or silicone-based lubricants.

You certainly should never use it with a condom as it breaks down the latex!

  • Advice from someone who tried:

You're better off using your own spit. It's not very slippery and doesn't feel that good. It'll feel more sticky than smooth and it's very hard to wash off of you since water just slides off of it.

On the plus side, we have a tub of it for my dry hands, lol.

Pretty sure it's not too good for your privates either. Get water based lube, you won't need that much of it, it can last for well over a few months even if you wank every day.

    • By it I meant Vaseline. Sorry for bad wording.

  • That is the worst possible lube you can use, even if you're not using it with a condom. It's not good for your pussy. Your pussy is not a baby's behind (or anyone's behind). Please use a lube specifically designed for the purpose. Yes, I know they're more expensive than is justified by the actual ingredients. And if you're using condoms, then use only water based lubes.

  • I think i was working on a similar drug when I worked for a pharmaceutical company so I did research on Vaseline before... and I think I read a journal about it saying... it could increase the risk of having a vaginal infection. There was a study done few years back. So, please buy a proper lube!

  • yes you can. But a better option is a cacao butter lotion (they have in body shop). Dilute with some water and its perfect (for vagina and penis). It glides smooth and easy and its healthy. If you want to use a tongue, add some strawberry or raspberry sirup. It makes sex sweet and exciting

  • Not with condoms and it's not ideal. Much better to use a water based lube like AstroGlide.

  • I can't even understand WHY would you use vaseline as lube.

  • I don't think vaseline would be good for your vagina. Just buy proper lube.

  • I wouldn't do it. Vaseline is based on oil and it can't be broken down in the vagina. Just use normal lube. It's not that expensive.

  • That's what it is known for lol

    • *HOLD !! not people usually vaseline for your pussy but vaseline being used as lube in general.

  • You could but it's super greasy and definetly not my first choice if I ran out of normal lube. Honestly I would use a mild lotion or conditioner if we were in the shower. But then again we don't use condoms so those may affect the condom.

We used the Wet brand lubes bc it's water based and not as greasy as other lubes we've tried. It's likes $8-$11 at most stores and it comes in a decent sized bottle that will last us about 5-6months using it fairly often.

  • Not with condoms. as an oil based lubricant it will ruin the condom.

  • I highly doubt it

  • Don't use it. Get a water based lube.

  • My OBGYN said not to...

  • Just for masturbating vaseline can be mind blowing lubrication
i always wanted to use it on my ex girlfriend when i fingered her
but don't use it with condoms it can ruin it.

  • ypu can put it on your lips though

  • You can't be cheap about this. Use water based lub. It doesn't cost an arm or leg to get it.

  • use coconut oil

  • It is too thick and does not mix with vaginal mucus. Some use personal lubricants. We are quite satisfied with watery dollar store lotion.

  • No dont use it, dont you get wet enough?
Durex play is good and aqua pjur.

  • Of course :)

    • probably a last resort at that, but yea...

  • No. Only water based lube is safe to put inside you. I don't think it would work very well either

  • No. It's kind of sticky.

  • can we find out together? :)
