I think he's just doing that because you asked for it. It's important to be honest with eachother - if you want him to stop, you have to tell him to stop!
Sometime when you're not doing it, talk about this with him. Maybe he thinks he's doing what you asked for but he's going too far because he doesn't know exactly what you want. Rough sex is a broad term and people have their own ideas of what that means.
