  • Alright so everyone's answers are saying that you need to make sure it's the right person, I totally agree with that. But how will you know? After 1 year? Something can happen and you find something out about him. After 5 years? Something can happen and he can still leave you flat on your face whenever he wants. When your engaged? I have a friend who was engaged to a guy and was planning her wedding and everything was going good then he threatened to kill her. In all the times it's more than likely that who you think is the right guy is really the wrong one. There's no way of totally knowing they're the right one but marriage comes pretty close. This man has given up his life. His love. His everything to spend the rest of his life with you. He can't just leave, he has a major commitment to you. That sounds pretty right to me. And you won't feel sneaky about it or dirty or scared. Cause it's with the man you love inside the safety of marriage. And I don't think you'll ever regret loosing it there. You can do whatever you want, but this along with many others is the reason why I'm waiting until I get married.

    • He could divorce you. Marriage isn't bulletproof either. Everything else sounds about right though.

    • Yes I know, but it's the closest you can get. And divorce isn't easy @Aud_Queen

    • 40-50% of marriages end in divorce. If you say so.

  • I was 17, almost 18.
I had my first boyfriend and we had been together for a year then. At the moment I didn't regret it although it wasn't how I had wanted to lose it though (was in a rush and hurried and no really pleasure)
I was ready to lose it though.
But when I broke up with him I started to regret he was the one I lost it to. But I had been ready to lose it at the time.

What I want you to think about is if you're ready and have a boyfriend you trust and love or have strong feelings for, and that he has those feelings for you as well. Because that is what's important. (To me it was). So don't think too much about what age you are.

  • I haven't.

  • 18, but it was with a guy who was really not worth it and doing some sick/creepy stuff behind my back. if you lose it, don't lose it to someone who is a bad person or someone who doesn't care about you , it'll scar you more than you think.

  • 18, and I felt completely ready and comfortable because it was with someone that I loved and I knew he would never push me to it.

Also I heard that the average is 17 years old, but a lot of people are older

  • I was 16. The average age in my country is 16.8 or something but that differs from place to place (I live in the netherlands). No age is wrong though, as long as it feels right and you trust your partner. The main reason I lost it at that time was that I had an amazing boyfriend for a few months and it felt as a logical next step. It hurt a bit, but I never felt regret.

  • THe average age is 14-16. a lot of my friends just lost theirs and honestly its up to you. But I hate the idea of someone losing their virginity to just some john, because i said he loves her and both their hormones are all out of sorts. Wait till the time is right, and be sure your doing it with someone you have strong connection with. I plan on waiting, the temptation is real but its always wort the wait

  • I was just about 20. I didn't feel bad about it.

  • 18 and still haven't. Waiting till I'm comfy doing so.

  • I still haven't yet. Not because I'm against it, but because I haven't found a guy I would want to give it to yet. And I'm in no hurry to find him.

Why do you want to lose yours? And why are you feeling guilty about it? Is there a guy pressuring you to?

  • I was 20 when I lost mine. 4 months before I turned 21
