He got an erection during my massage, is he attracted to me?

It happened yesterday after school. He's just a friend, nothing more for the moment. So we met after his workout and he had sore muscles so I proposed to give him a thigh massage. After a while he got an erection (he was just wearing compression shorts so it was obvious), I didn't say a word but stopped the massage so he looked very embarassed and said "sorry I couldn't help, I'm a boy". Is he attracted to me or is it a normal reaction during a massage? Do you think it's too close to sex to give a massage to just a friend?

  • It doesn't necessarily mean he is attracted to you, but it doesn't mean that he isn't. You can't expect to massage a man's thighs and not get that reaction. Touch itself can become arousing, especially if it's kind of in the brain as a no no. For instance, between friends. They don't expect to be that familiar and usually have boundaries. When that line is crossed, it can be arousing if the two are not adverse to each other. My sister-in-law is a massage therapist. It's typical for men and women to be aroused when massaging certain parts of the body. You can be massaging certain parts of their back and they can become aroused. She had to learn which spots to avoid in order to not temp arousal. Knowing those points comes in handy with her husband.

I'm actually kind of curious as to why you would massage his thighs. I have never done something like that with any of my guy friends. There are those invisible boundaries as to what is acceptable in a friendship. Unless a girl is attracted to the guy or EXTREMELY close with him, she is not going to massage his thighs. My guess is that you like him and you are kind of hoping he likes you too. Hence the question you posted.

  • He is a boy and if you massage a thigh you may be in a position that looks sexy. And if you look pretty, its not abnormal that he will get an erection. Personally, I don't have a problem giving massage to others. We often do amongst climbers. And they know I am lesbian and some of them do get an erection. So its a normal male behaviour.

  • for the guy who called a girl he does not know a slut and as for the asker, just remember this:

as for your question i wouldn't think much of it guys can get erections randomly

  • If a guy likes a girl, or is attracted to someone, or even thinks the girl is pretty, and she massages him there, then yes it could be attraction.

If he is not into her, it is just a natural response. But if it's a massive erection, he probably likes her. It's even hotter when it's a girl a guy likes.

Do you like him? If so propose another one! You need to rekindle the friendship and then progress it further. Even if not, then next time, don't stop. Normally a masseuse would just continue.

It's normal and fine to be aroused by a soothing massage. Could you help me on mine pls? www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q1542441-who-would-you-rather-of-these-hot-two-friends-which-girl

  • Of course he is going to get an erection. This thing women have where they think they have men that are just 'friends". Fist men are not "friends" with women, they are 'friendly". Secondly, just because he is being friendly doesn't mean he stops being a man. So especially if he is on the lower end of your age range he is going to be a walking erection anyway. So rubbing a woman is certainly going to give him an erection. We don't always have any control of them. and when your younger, you really don't control when it pops up.

  • It's a natural reaction.
It doesn't necessarily mean he's attracted to you.
    What you did felt good.

  • Clearly there was some attraction.

  • 1. I go with what @gray_sailor says
    2. That apart it is a normal reaction especially at an younger age to get erect at the slightest pretext
    3. The erection isn't necessarily a sexual reaction in this case
    4. Hence, this situation doesn't show that he's attracted to you sexually or otherwise :)

  • It depends on the guy. For some, stimulation near that region makes them hard but for others, it's attraction.

  • Not only can a man experience an erection without sexual arousal, he can even ejaculate without arousal, merely from a massage:

This is a fact of male physiology that all professional massage therapists learn about as an element of their training.

  • Boys get erections all the time. You just can´t control it sometimes.

  • Well in some ways, he is right, he can't control it. especially down there... A girl I care nothing about or don't find attractive touching me down there will likely get some response... now the fact that he asked you to do it tells me he likes you more than his reaction. And if you just see him as a friend, I would not do it again.

  • A massage from a female friend... sigh... as smart as men can be... in the end men are still bound by their instincts I suppose.

    Anyway , is he?
Well probably not a logically concluded attraction or at least you haven't given us enough information to say so, from the surface it is just a sign of animalistic lust , maybe it goes deeper we just don't know.

  • He could be, but guys are also very easily turned on, especially by touch. The way he reacted might be a hint of attraction though.

  • No real way to tell unless you ask him. Guys get erections when the wind blows.

  • you were massaging his thighs?

he could like you or he could just have been turned on by a massage so close to his junk. I've had massages where I got erect but it was purely out of the stimulation of certain erogenous zones.

basically I wouldn't assume he is attracted to you because of this.

  • I heard massages can cause arousal? Or something like that.

    I think it's pretty common.

  • Massaging his thighs really? What did you think was going to happen, he probably got an erection because your hands were so close to his junk which must have aroused him, although there is a good possibility he is attracted to you cause whenever Im in class sexual thoughts or arousal are the last things on my mind.

Also was he nervous before, during or after the massage?

  • It is normal and I would think of it as being a compliment as well! :o)

  • Haha its normal, he is probably attracted to you on a physical level and you were stimulating the are near his stuff so yeah

Nah i dont think its a bad thing to give a massage to a friend even if he gets horny as long as he isn't trying to make a move, and you make it clear that you are friends

  • guys can get erections during massages and does not mean he likes you
but there is a possibility he could it just depends.

  • I'd say first of all, if he's working out with you, that's enough of a sign that he wants you anyway. Asking for the massage was his way of really trying to say so, smoothly. Since you made sure to go along with embarrassing him instead of downplaying it like you should have - he will be so awkward around you now that I would say he'd definitely not want to date. You should be the more mature one and smooth it out by assuring him it was no big deal and being extra nice :)

  • It's a pretty normal reaction. He likes you well enough to let you give him a massage. "Is it too close to sex?" What do you mean by that? Yes, it's ok for you to give him a massage and not have sex with him. Men don't get to have sex every time they have an erection, no problem.

  • He could be maybe

  • Even I'd get horny if someone was giving me a thigh massage ;)
I wouldn't read too much into it. He must be pretty comfortable with you though. :)
