Thick vs. Fat? What is the difference?

I always wonder why we have to invent new words for things that already have perfectly fine words for. Thick is used to describe a chubby woman that you think is still good looking. Fat is used to describe a chubby woman that you DON'T find good looking. Why do people insist that there is something different about "Thick" women? They are just Fat.

You go from a little fat to a lot fat. Chubby to Obese. It is all fat. It is all unhealthy. In my mind healthy and toned is the most attractive. But I'd like your opinions on this THICK attitude.

So to me the two women below are both Fat. The lower one is just farther along. Your opinions?

Thick (to me... fat)

Fat (to me... just where the one above is headed)

  • I consider that example of fat to be thick

I mean is there fat there? Obviously

But it looks attractive to me, so I say she's thick.

That's basically how I determine what's fat and what's not, if I'm attracted to it or not

    • you mean the first one, right? not the second... the really big one...

    • Yeah the first one

    • thick* what is considered fat to most people. *

    • well, the blonde is still pretty, although that is just her age. She won't get to 20 without that body filling out.

    • Her body is at it's peak and #perfect for her natural shape (pear) She's probably about 21 i bet ^_^

  • I don't agree with the first picture being thick, I have thick family members so I know.

When I think of thick, I think of big female assets. Not bigness all around.

    • goddammit,,,,,,,,,, and wow, finally a girl that knows the difference

  • It's true, there's not such thing as thick. You're either fat or you're not.

But I disagree with your examples, because the first lady is fat and the second one is morbidly obese. :P

    • Ok. I thought I was the only one who saw it all as jus fat. (don you love the look on the woman to the left's face in the lower picture)?

  • thick is big but not lumpy. fat is lumpy... to me , anyway. haha

    • do you like that in men? or women? To me it all looks obese.

    • my preference is wide and muscular... but if somebody is overweight its not that huge of a deal. i'll just make them have lots and lots of sex with me so they lose weight without me having to ask them to. haha

    • lol - now that sounds like a strategy that has some distinct benefits! both in its execution as well as its result.

  • First girl is overweight, second girl is obese.

    • second one is something... wonder what she is sitting on... there can't be a chair that wide

  • Curves means you have curves obviously. Thick means you have bigger breasts, ass, and etc. Fat is when you're at the point where it's unhealthy and you have more than 45% body fat.

  • The top picture isn't thick she's fat.

    • I agree

    • But there are some people who have bigger thighs. And butt which and little waist or medium waist. Those people are thick. Kim k Nicki minjai Even though they are artificial you would classifi them as. such thick woman

  • bref fat is when its just fat and the natural shape got distorted.
thick is when the natural shape is ENHANCED. thick girls have some muscle along with fat, which is why they are sexy

  • Same thing to me

  • I find the top one, the thick girl, very attractive. She has a very female softness to her. I find it very feminine and sexy.
