Serious Question: why can't you lose your virginity to a dildo?

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I want serious answers. How is a dildo that different from a penis with a condom on it? 'Plastic' is the only thing coming into contact with everything... Why can't a dildo also count for losing your V-card?

  • Because virginity isn't a physical thing, as such. It's a socially constructed concept. And the societal concept of virginity in most places involves having had sex with another person, not an inanimate object. However, it is worth noting that because it's a societal concept and because societies vary from place to place, some concepts of virginity will be defined so you can lose your virginity to a dildo. Some areas define virginity in such a way that if your hymen is gone, your virginity is lost (which is obviously dumb because hymens can be broken from entirely nonsexual things and people can even be born without them.) Some areas define it such that having had any sexual experience, even if it was nonpenetrative, counts as losing virginity.

So basically, you can lose your virginity to a dildo, depending on how you define virginity. The issue is that virginity doesn't have a solid definition based on physical circumstances, and is more to do with what youve experienced based on most definitions.

    • These are the similar words I'd write.

  • if it breaks your hymen you "technically" aren't a virgin.
but some will argue that because its with a toy and not a person that you are.
i think it doesn't count unless its with a person. becuase of all the emotional stuff... masturbation shouldn't count. but everyone will argue something different.

  • Self pleasure does not count as virginity lose you need to lose it to someone.

  • It all depends on if virginity is defined by the state of your hymen? Or if it is strictly a philosophical position.

If it is based purely off of physical requirements, then guys cannot be virgins, because there is no physical change with them.

Therefore virginity is a philosophical position for guys, and with women the philosophy is illustrated by your hymen but does not necessarily require it.

  • Well, that depends on what you understand by "lose virginity". If by that you mean "breaking the hymen" then you could by yourself. But if you mean having sex with someone else for the first time (which I think is a more adequate definition) then you'll need someone to, at least, put the dildo in you.

    Don't you agree?

  • A dildo can't embrace you when it's finished and give you loving kisses when you're in pain.

No offense, but it's kinda lame and sad to lose your virginity to a dildo :/

  • physically you can loose your hymen, but "virgin" has been defined as someone not having engaged in intercourse.
Thus it takes two real people to fuck...

  • Because a dildo is not a human.

  • The term losing virginity particularly refers to a man (or a woman if you're a guy) having sex with you.

    • I guess all gays are still virgins then. I would define it as engaging in any sexual activity with someone other than yourself.

  • Because it's not a real penis. Virginity is a smarmy and artificial concept anyway, and there is no *true* way of losing it.

  • My answer is because a dildo is not a person. I define losing your virginity as having sexual intercourse. Yes, a dildo is penis shaped but, it's not real. If you are using a dildo on yourself , it's masturbation.

  • Are you going to marry your dildo? Your virginty is a gift a girl dhould give to her husband on their wedding night. Or in the back of the limo on the way to the reception like my hubby and I.

  • Because it isn't a man... you can't loose your virginity to yourself.

  • Lmfao! Because its not intimate

  • Does this mean I can lose my virginity by using a fleshlight 😲

  • Because the dick is magic

  • Virginity is a made up concept attaching value beyond the simple fact it was the first time you had sexual intercourse with another person. It is only worth something if you want it to be.

  • Maybe because losing your virginity requires that you have sex with another HUMAN.

  • You can break your hymen i think

  • i thiink it does medically/physically cuz the hymen gets broken.. but socially it doesn't count cuz it not the real think.. like drinking non alcholol beer doent count as drinking even tho its made the same way as beer or u still have to be 21

  • It only counts as loosing your virginity if the dildo is in your ass while your having sex with another person

  • a fetish dedected! stay away frm me!..

  • bc virginity is no just about penetration, it's about being very intimate with someone for the first time :)

  • Well you can break your hymen with a dildo, some refer to this as popping your cherry or losing your flower. But your hymen can break/stretch from just about anything.
So it could in that sense.

But sexual intercourse is between a man and woman so I guess for you to have to lose it you have to have sex with a man, a real man, flesh and blood!

  • because it isn't a penis

virginity is a made up thing
