This guy is really shy and introverted, but when he broke the ice and we started making out and fooling around a bit, he started to sweat a lot. I don't know if this is just a thing that happens when some guys get aroused or if he was just really nervous? We had been making out for over an hour, but the air conditioning was on.

The combination of being so far out of his comfort zone, maybe a little guilt and being so aroused got him sweating. Don't let that stop anything. If just means he's really into you.

  Stamina? He apologized for being awkward like 5 times- not for the sweating, but for other little things that honestly weren't awkward at all. At one point he said it was getting late (12am) and that he didn't want to leave (he said it twice nervously), and the second time I said he could stay (I was tired and my intentions were innocent) and he seemed genuinely surprised by that. But he ended up saying he would go because he wasn't sure what my relative that I'm living with would think and that he had to be somewhere in the morning. But, he invited me to sleep over at his house when his mom goes away in a couple weeks.

  Oh, right.. yeah, nevermind about that. He's 25. I mean, was he just like that because it was our first time making out, or because he's really into me? He was acting like he was afraid to make a mistake... but he was very affectionate. It was our seventh date and I had finally invited him to my house with my goal for him to open up more, and it was actually the first time we even held hands. He's just really shy.

  I don't think it was his first time, I mean he's had a girlfriend before and dated a few other girls. But, his ex cheated on him, I'm fairly certain. We have been dating for a little over a month now, but this happened just last week. We've been moving extremely slow, to say the least.

  I actually invited him over to watch movies again today after we go fishing. I'm having trouble getting a read on him, and it doesn't help that I get really nervous when he's nervous. But he was insanely affectionate... like kissing my hand and forehead, bear hugs, resting his head on my chest, staring into my eyes, eskimo kisses.. stuff like that. He's going away again to school for like 4 months in the fall so I don't know if it means anything? If he's shy and this nervous, do you think he would be like this just to end it before he goes back?

  This sounds really confusing, I was also shy/nervous in the beginning, but once the affectionate things started, shyness and nervousness simply stopped. Don't try to get a read on him, TALK to him, say that he comes of nervous when there is no need to be. In fact probably because you don't talk to him, he will get even more nervous since he will start doubting himself.

  It's hard, because I kind of shut down myself and get really nervous. But, that last date sort of broke the ice although I'm not sure how to approach him with those kind of questions. I'm actually quite confused, to say the least. Never dated before. When he apologizes for being awkward, I usually just kiss him or tell him it's okay because I'm awkward too, and that it balances out.

  Do I just open up a bit about myself and show him I trust him, or ask him questions? He seems to follow my lead in some respects.. he waited until I hugged him on our 3rd date before hugging me on our 4th, but by the 5th date when he tried to kiss me I didn't even expect one at that point. I actually pulled away because I almost didn't believe it and panicked at first, but then I kissed him and he was like "wow, that was awesome" and he blushed.

  You and me are both confused, If i was nervous, and the girl would kiss me and said don't worry, that would solve it instantly. I think his shyness and introvert attitude will just take longer to overcome.

  I feel awful because he told me way back when that he wished someone would take the initiative with him for once, but the only real initiative I've taken was when I asked him out on our first date. I'm afraid because I don't want to overwhelm him if he isn't at that comfortable point with me yet, but I want him to know that I do like him.

  You asked him out first? That is some pretty damn good initiative. Wow, I need to leave this country. Don't feel awful, no reason to be and it will only make this worse. What do you mean by overwhelm him, if he wants/love you, you need to do some pretty stuff before you overwhelm him. But it isn't about initiative, it's about speaking your mind, you don't do that, it's not going to work. at all.

  Eh.. I mean, it was through messaging that I asked him so I sort of cheated, but yeah. We've never actually spoken on the phone. But even then, our first meet kept getting pushed back... because we were both busy. When he finally saw me for the first time, though.. he stopped dead in his tracks and had the whole "deer in headlights" thing going. I mean, our conversations are rather informal... or just snarky commentary or observations- he opened up to me a lot online, but that's different. It's like all that progress was rebooted or something. I just don't want to suddenly put him on the spot... like "What are you looking for?" or "So, where is this going?". Hell- I've grown to like him so much that part of me is afraid to know. But you're right.

  That's depends entirely on the person, but I'll be honest, I still have that problem sometimes. You can open up easily, take a sec to think about what you are going type without distractions. When you meet, you have to react immediately, all the will looking into eyes of a women you are attracted to. But the thing is after, he should gradually become more comfortable. (normally) I can only be straightforward, you are in a relationship, when you want to know something ask. This will have to be the man that comforts you and you can open up to, you have to start doing this some day.

  Ah, okay :P I mean as much as I'd love to, I can't call him my boyfriend if we haven't actually talked about it, I'm not even sure if he's dating other people. I can't assume he isn't, but he's so shy and introverted that I don't feel like he would.. but that's just pure speculation. We definitely need to get more comfortable around each other first- If he doesn't intend on ending what we have now before he goes off to school, that is. That's a conversation I'm not looking forward to.

  Hmm, right :) I just realized that yeah,.. he's coming over in less than 2 hours.. and we're going fishing.. then a movie at my house, but I forgot that I have to feed him *facepalm*. Last time he came over I ordered a pizza, so I don't want to do that.. I feel like I should take him out somewhere, but we'll probably be all gross after fishing. hmm. The struggle is real.
