Is it normal to think sex is gross?

Just the thought of it makes me throw up in my mouth. Penises look DISGUSTING. I dont understand how people can put something that looks like a worm on steroids in their mouths. EWW 😵 it spreads diseases and it's just nasty. I dont get how people do it. Its so disgusting 😖

There is an instinct to find certin kinds of things and situations disgusting, it probably evolvesd to help us stay healthy. At the same time unfortunately, sex has a lot of those characteristics and without sex people would have gone extinct. So we also have developed a kind of mental switch which shuts off our disgust response when we are sexually excited. This has the side effect of associating sex with disgusting things in some people's minds which results in some weird fetishes.

In some people the switch doesn't work and some people don't get sexually excited easily. If you haven't finished puberty, it's normal to think sex disgusting because the sexual off switch doesn't usually start working till then nor does sexual excitement.

Well if you're under 18 as your title reflects then you are still young. That and perhaps oral sex may not be the thing for you. But to address the question " is it normal to think sex is gross?" Kind of a broad question. I suppose its normal for children to think its gross and probably better they do. Its also not uncommon for most people to view certain " aspects" of sex as being distasteful or unappealing. We all have our preferences. Is it normal to go through one's entire life thinking that any and all sexual activity is disgusting? Probably not.

Well, when you think about it, sex is quite weird. It's just two sweaty bodies smacking against each other lol. People do it because a) it feels good (that worm on steroids is more like a steel pole covered in skin), b) to get closer to their partner and c) they may want kids. Diseases? That's what contraception was made for! Happy growing up ^_^

quite simply sex is disgusting, just like a tonne of other natural stuff we do you don't have to give oral you don't have to be with guys, you may never want sex or you may change your mind but if you are safe sex won't give you a disease and could feel amazing, just dont do anything you don't want to

Younger girls may find it gross, so it's normal. When we start to think about sex for the first times, and when we see what it may be, you may be shocked, but thats normal.
