Why are girls so terrified of being "desperate"? What's wrong with having sexual desires and acting on it? What if you were desperate for his dick? Would it really be so terrible if your boyfriend thought you were desperate for it?

And what exactly does it even mean for women to be "desperate" anyway? I hear it more and more these days. Is it just the age old fear of being "slutty" or is it something more? It seems like that word gets tossed around in any scenario where a woman shows open sexual interest in a man. I get the impression women are terrified of a man knowing she wants him sexually, like it's shameful and it needs to be hidden.

I guess I can't speak for all guys but I wish women would be more "desperate" by which I mean that I wish they would be less aloof and reticent and more open about their sexuality. As a guy, that reticence personally makes me feel isolated and more distant from a girl. It gets pretty lonely when you have to be the aggressor all the time. It's hard to feel valued when you have to make all the advances and take it on faith that a woman feels the same way because she doesn't feel at liberty to show it. It's hard to know when they're being coy or they legitimately don't like your advances and you just end up feeling like a real perv.

And yes, I know that there are reasons for that reticence (social conditioning, slut shamers, psycho guys) but it seems like women are still reluctant to being openly sexual even in the confines of a relationship with a man they trust and that just doesn't seem right.

As a guy, it's really endearing (and arousing) when a girl is hot for you and lets you know it. Yes it's sexy but it also makes you feel cherished and wanted. That's why guys are so big on wanting girls to worship their penis. It's not about power or domination or objectifying women to gain sexual pleasure from them. Those are the kind of gestures that make guys feel loved and special.

The point is that being "desperate" is not a terrible thing. Having intense sexual needs is part of being a sexual being. It's not something men are going to look down on you for or lord over you. It's not something you have to hide, ladies. You don't have to curtail sexual desires. It doesn't make you dirty or immoral or bad and it's safe to express it with a guy you can trust. We love it.
