Obviously, I think it depends on the individual person. Many people are vegan due to animal cruelty issues (as many of you pointed out). But if the vegan consumes no animal for a dietary choice, health reasons, or part of an obscure religious belief, they very well may refuse to swallow.

They probably would because the point of them not ingesting animal products is that the animals haven't given permission for them to have them. In most cases, swallowing is something they're given rather enthusiastic permission to do :P
