Should I get treatment for Vestibular Papillomatosis?

About 6 months ago I discovered I have vestibular papillomatosis and I have been fretting ever since. It's not like a disease or anything, it's actually just a normal variant of labia minora but it's not very common. I have a mild version which means the inner halft of my labia minora I covered in tiny bumps (about 1mm tall and 0.5 mm thick). I really, really hate it and I feel like such a freak. You can get treatment for this where acid is used to remove the bumps but I think it leaves scars. I'm 99% sure that I want the surgery but I'm just wondering. Girls, do any of you have this? Or what would you do in my position? Guys, how much would this bother you? (The bumps can only be seen in a small area on the inside of one of my labia and are otherwise invisible. However you can feel them easily and my labia feel rough because of it) I won't be offended if you say you think it gross because tbh I completely agree Xxx

  • Please don't worry about it any more. It's such a minor issue that 99% of guys wouldn't even notice. The other 1% won't care, anyway. So please don't make it an issue for yourself. No decent guy is going to be put off. Any guy that is put off is not decent and isn't worth worrying about!

    • Thanks for MHG!!

  • I would certainly suggest you get treated so that you can avoid the whole HPV discussion when he goes down on you.

  • I don't think it's weird. Many people have things like that in their genitals, they just don't tell others. I recommend talking to your doctor about the pros and cons of getting/not getting treatment.

  • I believe that most guys definitely at the point of sexual intercourse wouldn't notice but if u are with someone u plan on being with explain it to him. This was my first time ever hearing about it and I wasn't freaked out. Guys can be a little stupid at times but they also can b very understanding and compassionate. Trust yourself, you'll be fine.

  • in my opinion its not worth the surgery you may lose feeling and have scar tissue.
It wouldn't bother me at all.
    Hope this helps :)
