Why would anyone want to be this skinny ?

Why would anyone want to be this skinny !?

I know you can't always help being this small , but I'm talking about the women who exercise compulsively , and take dieting to extremes to reach THIS size. This " thigh " gap trend is beyond ridiculous. Am I saying if you naturally have one it's bad? Absolutely not. But why do women WANT one? Why can't people just be happy with how they are instead of always wanting to be what's on tv & magazines? This is Taylor Hill , a VS model. Please tell me what's attractive about this? She has NO breast , completely flat , no thighs.. Nothing. It's literally unhealthy , and people do this to themselves?

This post is not meant to BASH anyone , so if you're going to leave a comment saying that.. Don't bother. All I said was women should be happy how they are and stop trying to imitate women on tv and magazines and taking it to EXTREMES. They should just be healthy and happy with THEIR body's. Now I don't know why would have an issue with that , but if you do , get off my post.

Everybody obviously misconstrued my whole point. Anyways , ladies , just be happy in your own skin. Be happy with yourself and your body. Eat right , exercise to healthy amounts and don't let society , magazines , or anyone else tell you that you have to be a size 0 or your " fat " . Don't be like the girl in the picture and risk your health to look like that. It's okay if you do or was born like that, but don't put health on the line because curvy is beautiful too.

  • I'm going to actually answer your questions instead of bashing you or her haha.
Yeahhh. She's really skinny... That's not healthy unless she's naturally like that lol.
I love how everyone's like STOP SKINNY SHAMING and then you can see reality, like these comments... Everyone standing up for her. If it were an overweight person, people would be attacking her. THAT is why people (not "girls" men do, too) starve themself. Ugh. It's awful.
I could never be that skinny if I tried. I put on muscle like a flipping beef cow, and so I have thought, "I'm not skinny. So I'm not pretty."
But that's a load of steaming shit. As long as you're fit and healthy, you're attractive, and fuck everyone that labels you.
Same for her though... Maybe she's healthy. And a lot of people find her attractive anyways! So whatever, it's her life.
Another thought though. I, personally, am quite the fit buff andy body fat percentage is in the lower range. People that workout or eat and healthy diet aren't always obsessively trying to look good, so I didn't like the excessive working out comment.
I also think that people need to stop defining attractive for each other. I, as a happily not exactly straight gal, do not find her attractive. But other people do.
Bottom line. She's really skinny. But skinny doesn't mean pretty, and neither does bigger. People do this to themselves because they have some reason.. Mental disorder, maybe.

    • I agree with you completely. The reason I used her picture in the first place was because she is a Victoria secret model , and those girls have had numerous interviews where they admitted to being sick for months & even hospitalized after the extreme dieting they had to go through. I even said in my question being naturally skinny is one thing , but these ''models' we're going against their own bodies and hurting themselves. That was my point in general , so I have no idea why anybody would consider this to be healthy in the slightest. I mean I can literally see her bones poking out of her chest. I actually did an experiment and posted a bigger woman and people had NO problem calling her out. Called her " fat" and " needed to diet ASAP " . It's ashame how society treats bigger girls.

    • A-fucking-men!! People have NO problem calling out fat people, yet defend someone malnourished. Way to go society. Ofc its a different story if you're naturally that way. It doesn't mean you're ugly. Just starving yourself is never okay!

  • I think she has a great figure and I wouldn't mind looking like that (maybe a little bit more meat).
I think excessively eating is also a big problem.

Most overweight people aren't 'naturally' like that. They often just eat too much, which is very unhealthy as well. I think people shouldn't give so much attention to each other's bodies. Only if it's unhealthy as in underweight or overweight. But trying to make being overweight a good thing as in calling it 'curvy' is not any better than calling extremely underweight people beautiful.

    • I agree completely.

    • Although I don't think this girl is unhealthy. You can see she works out but not excessively. I think she's naturally skinny as well.

  • Well, because it's 2015 and that's what's in style. If it were 300 years ago, the ideal would look something like this.

Beauty is so subjective. It changes with time, culture, and the personal preferences of the rich and famous. The easiest thing to do is just be happy with yourself the way you are. Someone somewhere is going to find you attractive.

  • Ok you're making 2 claims, that she's not healthy, and that she's unnatractive.

    1.
She's not necessarily unhealthy. She could eat a healthy diet and still be that skinny because of having naturally small bone structure and a fast metabolism.

I'm pretty skinny for a guy. I don't exercise and often eat cheeseburgers and pizza but I don't get fat. That's just the way I am. You could have another guy with my same diet and lifestyle choices and he could look fatter if he has bigger bones and a slower matabolism.

    2. As far as her being unnatractive, that depends. Some guys will find her attractive but from the perspective of mass appeal, she is probably skinnier than what would be considered ideal. Another thing is that VS models are marketed to women more than they are to men. Also she has above average facial aesthetics which definitely plays a role in her popularity.

  • She is skinny. REALLY skinny. Someone get her a hamburger. She isn't my type anyways. There is a difference between skinny and anorexic.

    • Finally , someone with some common sense

    • It's important to have common sense and knowledge 😀

    • Lmao!!!"someone get her a hamburger"

  • Umm, I'm that skinny, but I'm also shorter than she is and my breasts are larger as well.

  • She's thin yeah, but she doesn't look anorexic to me. So long as she feels ok and is healthy it really doesn't look bad.

I'm a chubby girl, probably always will be, and I don't think it's right to strive for a certain shape to the point where it consumes all your time and energy.

  • "I'm not bashing anyone"
"Please tell me what's attractive about this? She has NO breast , completely flat , no thighs.."

    Lol. Get out.

  • I'm much thinner than that.

    So thanks...

    lol just kidding.

I AM smaller than that, but I'm not actually offended.

  • She's beautiful and I don't get why women constantly need to tear each other down :/

  • This looks like her natural body. Some people have grave eating disorders which are so advanced they are in complete oblivion regarding the dismorphism. It's a mental sickness they can't help. Personally, I'd rather look like her than to be obese because obesity creates so many more co-morbid conditions and limitations. If someone starves themselves you should feel sorry for them, not put them down. They are emotionally distraught.

    • i used her picture for the exact reason of the fact she isn't naturally skinny she is a Victoria secret model , and there has been numerous interviews with all of the girls stating that for the first few months they were so sick from malnourishment. Also one girl stopped getting her periods , and ended up in the hospital with cysts. Naturally skinny is one thing , but doing this to yourself to be a MODEL is crazy and I do not have sympathy for you

    • Seems crazy to me but still sad. We all make sacrifices to get what we want from life. I'm happy not to be in her place, I'll tell you that!

  • I don't think this VS model was the best example for your rant. She doesn't look unhealthy, and she does have thighs and they look similar to mine (and I am not unhealthy either).

She looks to be at a normal healthy weight for her height.

    • Well she's not. She's 5'9 and 119 pounds. Go look that up on google yourself , put it in a bmi calculator. She's under weight.

    • She has a bmi of 17.5, which is not too far off from normal.

  • I think she's perfect I'd die to look like her

  • I don't know but I don't like it..

  • She's definitely skinny, but I don't look at this girl and think "whoa she's undernourished!"

Some people are just predisposed to be thinner -- it doesn't necessarily mean that she's unhealthy or something.

  • I look like that.

How bout you stop bitching about other people and focus on yourself.

    • Everyone can have opinions. I think it's ashame people can bring down heavier size people all the time but if one person makes one comment about a skinny person , it's an issue. Lol I don't have a filter on my mouth to keep from offending people. I'm not bashing anyone I clearly said why can't women just be happy with their NATURAL size instead of going to EXTREMES to look like models. Please explain what the hell iis wrong with that?

    • Yet you downvote me for sharing mine. I dontr waste my time with anonymous users. If you really wanna talk come out of the shadows

    • Because I disagree with you. Therefore disagree = down vote. Sorry I hurt your feelings 😂😂

  • Skinny girls look better in clothes.

  • I don't think girls should be doing extreme dieting either. But some people just have naturally slim bodies. I don't know if this girl is like that or not, but I suspect she is. I don't think she's too skinny because she doesn't look emaciated with her ribs showing or anything. I think she looks good actually.

  • It's not always unhealthy. One if my best friends is naturally this skinny.

  • I'm not really into extra skinny girls.
But she looks good. I don't see a problem

  • She's looks fine to me. But seriously, why is this even an issue? As long as she's happy with her body, that's all that really matters.

  • Some people have a mental disorder and can't help how they feel about wanting to look this way. I am naturally skinny and I wish I didn't have a thigh gap I also wish I had curves but eh what can I do I was born like this

    • Nothing wrong with that at all. Naturally skinny women can be gorgeous. I was talking about women who hurt themselves to look like this. I'm sure your beautiful :)

  • Maybe she feels pretty. She does kinda look it.

  • I think she's very attractive, I wouldn't mind either dating her or looking like her

  • I think she has a hot bod, you may think it's unattractive but others will think differently.
