Teen Girl Filmed Having Sex in School Bathroom Was Human Trafficking Victim-yet people blame her? Why is she to blame?

I told my mother this story and her one statement on everything was "Well, she's still a hoe" I was shocked. She is a child, a victim, held hostage for years and raped. Yet, all over social media, where the video has been shared, people are blaming her-calling her a whore, hoe, loose, and everything else under the sun. HOW is she wrong?

And I ask you to PLEASE try to be understanding and not vulgar in your responses.

Summary
Florida sheriff's detectives are investigating a cellphone video purportedly showing a 15-year-old girl having sex with as many as two dozen boys in a public high school bathroom after school.

Five students were initially suspended and 11 others await disciplinary action.

Students said videos were shared through text messages, the mobile app Snapchat and on social media, which could land students with child porn charges, attorneys said.

A woman who has worked with the girl served as the family’s spokesperson.

“What’s upsetting about this is this behavior is not uncommon for human trafficking victims... Sex trafficking is a very traumatizing experience,”

She was held captive for 2 years.

“She was only 13 when she was trafficked,” said Estrem.

The girl was placed into multiple treatment programs, the most recent was eight months long.

Because she’s a runaway, only a handful of programs would accept her.

She was a student for only two weeks when the incident happened.

“She was not equipped to make a stable, rational decision in that situation,” said Estrem.

Her mother said the girl went to the boys bathroom to talk to a boy she had a crush on. She said the boy wanted sex, and her daughter complied — then word got out.

Waid stated that people could be charged with a crime for sharing the video.

I think its the fault of the parents if im frank. No one would be that stupid in allowing their daughter to go to a public school like that and simply saying "fuck it she needs to finally live her life" *1 year later* "omg how did this happen".
I really don't see much that can be done for the girl if people keep making a big deal out of this. Making a big deal out of it is whats going to fuckin hurt her and probably already has. Its going to turn into another amanda todd story because people didn't fuck off from something that isn't their business. Way i see it is that she needs a new identity, think about it. Her social media is fucked because the school decided it best that this be publicized. Given this day in age with everyone having an opinion and sharing in the belief of slut shaming, along with the fact all of her friends are probably 15 year old girls (which as most of us know is a bad combination) which won't help her. Everyone is up in arms because a teen had an orgy, they don't know what to do either. In one way or another, the mass publicity did fuck all. Its not an epidemic but rather something that caused more drama than it needed and brought about more problems for the girl, the family and the school to face.

  • No Vote here. You have to understand, most of the articles i've read don't mention that part. The only story people know is that she banged a bunch of dudes. I seriously doubt the majority of people know the whole story. Any girl that age, that participates in a 12 way gang bang obviously has some issues.

This leads me to another question. Is it normal to enroll someone that's been trough a traumatic past into a public school like that? Pretty sure no one at that school is equip for high risk kids like that.

She's a victim but at the same time those boys were kids to. How were they supposed to know here past and her emotional issues.

  • It's so easy to blame the victim. That's sick

    • I don't understand how people can know about her horrific past and still call her names.

    • I know. It's really sad.

  • Not enough solid fact to say one way or about her wherther she did what she wanted or did what he had been directed to do. No vote

  • Why is there blame to be had?
She has been conditioned like that. She feels compelled to do it. The boys were given an opportunity they absolutely could not refuse. What's so abnormal for a boy to want to have sex with a girl who is acting like she wants it? That's freaking human nature ! If there is blame to be had, let's put it on the people who abducted her instead and keep some for those who shared the video.

  • Well in all technicallity she DID make the decision tho.
If she were to murder someone would we use the "she suffered abuse herself" as an excuse and not imprison her?

    • So, what should be done now (if you were school administration) What path would you want the boys involved and her to take?

    • I don't know but all of them should get something for it.

  • In this case, it seems fair to conclude that she was a victim due to the fact that she was trafficked and needed mental and emotional help to deal with the damage that was already done. But what I disagree with is charging students for child pornography when they themselves are children. It completely misses the spirit of the law.

  • Initially I dont think anyone knew she was a human trafficing victim. In most of the initial articles and videos all people heard was that a girl has sex with 25 guys in the bathroom.

While she is a victim of human trafficing it does seem like she did willingly choose to hookup with those guys.

    • Do you think she deserves the title of whore?

    • For the bathroom incident? Well whore implies she did it for money which doesn't seem to be the case. As far as the word slut, if anyone else had done that there would be no debate. The word has a definition and having sex with 25 guys in one days generally fits that definition. Anything that happened while she was captive is exempt but anything she chooses to do afterwards isn't. Also like I said most people didn't know until recently that she was a sex trafficking victim. All most people heard was a girl fucked 25 guys in the bathroom.

  • Victim blaming is common (nearly the norm!) when it concerns girls and sex.

  • Anyone who blames a human trafficking victim like that is scum

    • Right, that's how I feel, and I can't believe my mother would say something so heartless.

  • It's funny that in a country where your innocent till proven guilty, it's more a judge first and ask questions later mentality. There is a lot of people who do not care about facts, they will believe what they want to believe.

  • If that's the only life she knew then this makes sense. I can't blame her, this is terrible.

  • So 38% of GAG's users are sick, sick people? Nice to know.

    • The poll keeps getting worse, 40% vote option 1. Guys are split 50/50 and 2.5:1 for women.

    • Uggghghghghghhghghghghgghghghhhaifhoiafñoigasdñfjpipoaadgñlklsdjasdjñlhlgdsg

  • It's unfortunate, And it will never go away.
She is a real victim in life, So i can't blame her.

  • That is absolutely horrific. What happen to men protecting women? Stories like this make me feel so disgusted. My prayers go out to the girl.

  • This is the first time I've read she was a "victim of human trafficking".

The two news articles I've read about this only mentioned that she did it after school hours and on her own, under no pressure from others. But one of the article mentioned her IQ may be lower than normal.

It was pretty clear from reading those two articles that she did it out of her own free will. And frankly, I agree with "ThisDudeHere"

  • you are what you do no matter why you did it.

  • She made the decision.

There's also almost no question she wouldn't have made this sort of decision if it weren't for the abuse she's suffered in the past.

    • Well read a little more about it, it looks like she made some initial decisions, but it may have turned into rape, and I can't say for sure, i don't know enough.

  • If its a decision she willingly made, she isn't a victim.

maybe it's sad that she did this or was brought up to do this... but i can't call her a 'victim'

  • So you're saying she was having sex. Was she raped or was she having sex? Those are completely different. If she was having sex then she is no more of a victim than any of the guys she had sex with unless they were 18 or older.

    • Details not that clear. The first articles just said she did it, and suggested she agreed. Another one, i read a girl in the school saying she saw the video and the girl in it is head down in a toilet bowl like 'she was dying' and there's no way she was consenting to each of those guys. I don't know. It sounds to me like she probably agreed to have sex with some guy and his friends and more showed up and they treated her worse and she basically went limp. That's not legal.
