I was reading an article on jezebel, about a reddit thread, asking rapists to explain what they did & why.

Throughout my life I have been a victim of rape 3 times, as a child, as a teenager, & as an adult. I feel it's important to understand what goes through someone's mind to make them rape someone. I also do not believe, "rape is about power", because each time it happened to me it was purely about a guy wanting sex. 

Rapists should not be silenced. Others disagree & brush it under the rug, but nothing will ever change if this dialogue is never started.

I don't think anything specific goes through their minds. Like you said it's about control and dominance and that adrenaline rush. I personally think society is partly to blame also. Sexy women everywhere in the media objectified, plus the general views on nudity and sexuality, that combined with "not getting any" and again, control, dominance and the adrenaline rush all fuel this behavior. If these rapists were in relationships, it would just be abusive ones I think (but not necessarily saying abusive guys are all rapists, I just think all rapists would be abusive if in a relationship).

I think it's important to figure why people are messed up and hopefully fix them or others before they get to that stage.
I've peered into the mind of evil before and it's a scary little world in there.

I believe it is about power or about something else but definitley i agree with the part that says you don't get raped because of your clothes... etc because even kids get raped , i would say they are just sick in the mind and i don't want to even understand wtf they are thinking i am not sure we can handle the stuff inside their brain

It's not not about power bc each time they wanted sex. A lot of people want sex. They forced it. Overpowered you to get it. That's about power.

I was trading a oil in violence and it was interesting. The guys Shared a desire to get rid of the people so this would stop looking at them. They couldn't handle the judgement.

It happened to me too. I think it's a matter of hurt people hurt people. They feel like people don't give a damn about them or people like them so they stop giving a damn about themselves as well as others.

i don't know that digging into the mind of rapists really is glorifying them

but i also don't know that reddit is the appropriate place to get into the mind of a rapist. i feel like it needs to be done more scientifically with a greater aim at learning, understanding and then applying what is learned to help police, counsel, and avoid the issue going forward

You wanna know what drives men to rape? Extreme capitalistic nature of women not the kind that desires for material possession but extreme capitalism on mens emotions women don't consider anyone their men their fellow women or most times even their own child as living beings to them all living things are just decorative objects meant to enhance their status, life, pride now tell me who would feel pity for some one like that is it really a wonder why victim blaming is do prevalent outside in the real world.
