Trashy is to extreme a word. I would go with immature. The overt display of a hicky displays an immaturity which a guy would not want to plant on a girl he respected. Not that there is anything wrong with it other than the public display of one cheapens the girl

Yup. It's like holding a sign saying "I have to show people I made-out with someone because I need their validation". It's pretty easy to avoid getting hickeys, people usually get them on purpose and it's not attractive.

Because they aren't attractive and no one needs to see what you've been up to the night before. I don't care for them if they can't be seen, however the ones of the neck are atrocious.
