Black people age like wine: Do black women seem to get prettier with age?

I've heard the saying "black people age like wine, light people age like milk". Not trying to be racist, I'm Latino.

But a lot of the black female celebrities look better now than they did before. From what I've been reading they haven't done any surgery or botox or anything like that. So is it true that black girls, if they take care of themselves and eat healthy and eat right will look better when they're older?

I know this isn't all black girls. They don't all age well. And not all white women age badly. Jenifer Aniston aged well. However, I'm noticing now that when black girls eat healthy and exercise they tend to look a lot better when older than they did when they were younger. So is the saying true? I Black people age like wine in your experience?
I think a lot of black girls would be hot if they just exercised, ate right and if many didn't have such a stank attitude. Then I'm hearing studies on here they got the tightest poonany too. HNNNNNGGGG!!! Tragic so many are overweight. I guess a lot can't afford healthy foods, and in reality black people shouldn't be eating too many meats. They need to eat more fruits and vegetables. Black women have so much potential. But they waste it! First the stank attitudes, then being overweight. If they ate right, exercised, and would chill out I'd be all up in it. I only date white women now cause they're nicer, but I'm scared to marry a white girl because they tend to age badly.

I just searched the Gabrielle Union pic and that pic is on a 3 year old website and the pic could have been taken years before that. She may actually be around 35 there. It's probably Photoshoped too. Most celebrity pics are not actually them. I just searched for the one pic to point out she is not 43 there. I think aging depends on the person and their lifestyle.

Yeah I don't think celebrities are a common reflection of regular people, but you have good points. Their skin does tend to wrinkle less but they are more likely to get certain kinds of other age marks like some kind of dark spots and other things. I forget exactly. I think any race can take care of themselves.

My sisters, 38 and 35, still get id and do not have a single wrinkle. People think that my mother is 15 years younger than her actual age.

Move to the UK (or any other country with a black population) most black woman are not overweight, it's just an American thing

I can't agree with the skin claim because there are Asian women with pale skin who are 50s+ and can pass for 20s without trying. Yes, it's true that those Asians aren't at the beach sunbathing. And it's also true that a lot of white women age faster because they don't use sunscreen... but you also have a lot of white women living in northern climates without a lot of sun who age FAST too. Probably it's a combination of a lot of factors like skin, diet, drugs/booze...

Some do, if they don't eat terribly, smoke or drink too much. Celebs really aren't an accurate representation of any women though. If we all had their money, expert stylists, amazing make up artists, best of the best hair dressers and personal shoppers, we'd all look that good. That's not to mention the flattering lighting and photo shop for TV or photos.

all of the celebs i listed are former 90's actresses. they aren't as famous anymore and many even have trouble getting roles now. so now they aren't big balling with money.

@cavmanier so do other non famous people, but they still don't have the money for all the extras that celebs and the likes do. So if they didn't have that money, they might still look good but they won't look the same as they do in a magazine or on the red carpet when they've paid somebody to help them bring out the best and look even better. It's common knowledge that celebs, even male celebs, can often easily look better than other people just because of all that.

They're not red carpet but they're professional. I just said red carpet as an example. Like sometimes have you seen those celeb bashing sites where they'll catch a celeb unaware when she's out on a normal day looking fucked up or whatever. It's not even that she looks terrible compared to a normal girl, she still looks good, just not as good as when she's done up for a shoot, special event or TV appearance. Celebrities aren't a representation of standard every day people. That's why loads of... (Sometimes bitter) people complain about it and even campaign about "unrealistic beauty standards" I'm not saying they don't look good or would be ugly without the extras though, because it's obvious most would still look good.

A lot of this does have to do with diet and exercise.. But also melanin pigment. The lighter you are the more the sun can wreck havoc on your skin and make you look older.

It has to do with melanin. Look at Asians they look younger that a lot of white women as well. White women like to tan, it kills the skin. Asian women avoid the sun like the plaque and black women have more melanin so the skin can take more UV rays. However, my mom is white and looks young as fuck so does the women on her side. So it comes down to melanin and genetics.

Asians produce more melanin than white people but not as much as black people. also their diets are different. they tend to eat healthier. however once Asian women hit menopause they tend to look old quick. so they stay looking young before menopause, but once it hits... they look bad
