First japs and Koreans can't account for entire Asian continent cuz most of them are not from mainland of Asia as japs live on island (except Chinese). Asia include Russia, India, Pakistan, Middle East, Nepal, Chinese and states that are not independent from soviet union. I mean all of the mentioned states +Malaysia and maldives like to shave their pubes but I don't know, who made japs standard to be Asian.
Shaving pubes is a very recent thing. That trend didn't really take off until the last ten years or so. You say almost everyone in the US shaves. I suspect that the large majority do not shave and never have. It's just something that hasn't caught on in other parts of the world.

It is normal. It grows out of our skin and protects our lady bits from harm like it's meant to. WE Americans are the weirdos that like it unnaturally cut.
Honestly, we don't need body hair anymore. Ever since we, as a species, started making clothes and wearing them, we evolved to have less and less body hair. If we wore hats as often as pants and shirts, we wouldn't even need the hair on our head! Pubes are just about the most unnecessary vestigial organs (if you can call it that) that we still have. In fact, in some cases pubic hair can harm us! Pubic lice manifest in pubic hair (hence the name). Ever since it became the cultural norm to shave our pubes, pubic lice were driven to endangerment. One day they might even go extinct, if we keep it up.
Unnecessary? It protects our skin from friction and abrasion. Men and women can still chafe and get blisters on their privates underneath clothes, especially when it's hot. For women, it creates a barrier to keep bacteria, viruses, and dirt out of our vagina. Cultural norms are man made guidelines. Our bodies are knows more about what's going on than we do.
If you shower every day, you hardly need a barrier to protect yourself from bacteria, viruses, and dirt. It will all get washed away before it has a chance to do anything to your body. In fact, pubic hai might even be a hindrance in this case, because like you said, bacteria, viruses, and dirt get caught in them - making it harder to wash out than if you were bare. That leaves chafing. Temporary discomfort every now and then is a small price to pay for the extermination of a potentially harmful STD. I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I'm just defending those who shave, because it can have its advantages.
Some are supersticious, like they believe it brings them luck, and if you shave them away, it means you're shaving away your luck. Most are just keeping it because its nature.
I keep mine smooth.. mostly shaved.. sometimes waxed.. I'm thinking about getting laser Tho.. want to get rid of hair forever

Every girl I've ever been with was shaved, and they said they did it simply because they liked it or felt "clean" or something like that. I also did a few polls a while back, and like 70 something percent of guys said they shave, and 90 something percent of girls said they do too.
